Procedures and Homework Assignments for 9/29/08
Procedure for HS 10 (9/29/08)
Objective: Students will be able to write old/new vocabulary and use new vocabulary in old/new sentence patterns.
Procedure:
- 1) Take one square paper. 2) Quiz on Friday. Last quiz papers will be returned after Dean finishes taking his makeup quiz today.
- Monday Sharing.
- Dictation on dry erase board (characters, terms, sentences).
- Complete the remaining sentence patterns (second half of Lesson 11 handout).
- Model the remaining characters.
H/W: 1) Bring your workbook on Wednesday. 2) Write the remaining characters as homework assignment tonight. 3) Practice writing and memorize all characters. 3) Review your handout for sentence patterns. 4) Read/Preview textbook pgs. 93-100. 5) Utilize tomorrow very wisely and effectively!
Procedure for HS 20/90 (9/29/08)
Objective: 1) Prepare students with new sentence structure for their oral presentation. 2) Practice reading sentences for oral fluency. 3) Students will be able to say/tell/count numbers from 0 to 100 before Friday
Procedure:
- Monday Sharing.
- Make arrangement with Ms. Chang for your counting numbers quiz (20 points). Due this Friday. If not, take it in class!!
- Teach new vocabulary (jiā家family, yǒu 有have, … gè rén 個人… persons, suì歲years old, ér zi兒子 son, nǚ ér 女兒 daughter, tā他/她he/she) and sentence patterns (I am…, There are … people in my family, They are ….., I am ….years old).
- Write sample sentences and make your own sentences.
- Write your sentences/Pair practice (read your sentences to your partner).
- Practice reading sentences (Review Sheet #1).
H/W: 1) Memorize new terms (jiā家family, yǒu 有have, … gè rén 個人… persons, suì歲years old, ér zi兒子 son, nǚ ér 女兒 daughter, tā他/她he/she ). 2) Practice saying your sentences. We will take turns reading in the class. 3) Practice counting numbers 0-100.
Procedure for MS 30 (9/29/08)
Objective: 1) Students orally introduce all about themselves. 2) Students familiarize themselves with direction terms.
Procedure:
- Monday Sharing.
- Oral presentation. Turn in your hardcopy for grades.
- Teach new terms (directions—up, down, left, right, front, behind), if time allows.
H/W: Memorize new direction terms.
Procedure for MS 50 (9/29/08)
Objective: 1) Students familiarize themselves with direction terms. 2) Students have their oral presentation copy proofread.
Procedure:
- Monday sharing.
- Review new terms (directions—up, down, left, right, front, behind).
- Pair practice.
- Game: pin the donkey tail.
- Check draft for oral presentation.
H/W: 1) Practice your oral presentation (#1-#14). 2) Finalize your hardcopy to turn in on Wednesday.
