Procedure for HS 10 (10/9/08)
Objectives: 1) Students will be able to incorporate all old and new vocabulary/terms/sentences in the skit and communicate with each other fluently and accurately in Chinese. 2) Students will be able to tell apply new vocabulary/terms/sentences in telling dates/getting permission.
Procedure:
- 1) Turn in your homework. 2) Take one square paper.
- Skit. Turn in your hard copy, rubric, and skit card to Ms. Chang.
- Model stroke order for new characters. Practice on dry erase board.
- Continue sentence patterns/terms in the supplementary handout.
H/W: 1) Write new vocabulary, one row each. 2) Read your textbook pages 5-8 thoroughly to familiarize yourself with all sentence patterns. 3) Bring in your textbook for culture class tomorrow—geography about China.
Procedure for HS 20/90 (10/9/08)
Objectives: Students will be able to say, write, read and comprehend numbers and math operators (-, ×, ÷) in math expressions in Chinese. 2) Students will be sight read sentences and discriminate final set of consonants.
Procedure:
- 1) Take one square paper and one set of handout (to introduce zh ch sh z r c s). 2) Bring in your textbook for tomorrow’s culture class—geography of China. 3) No 8th period activity today. Ms. Chang is in other classroom.
- Dictation on dry erase board (consonants).
- Finish up consonants (90 only). Check pronunciation and pair practice.
- Sight read sentences (Finish up Review Sheet #1—20 only).
- Teach/Model stroke order for remaining characters (減, 乘, 除, 以). Practice on dry erase board.
H/W: 1) Read textbook pages 1-5 (Sections 1-3 “The Country”, “The Language”, and “The Writing”). 2) Write new characters, one row each.
Procedure for MS 30/50 (10/9/08)
Objectives: Students will be able to apply the terms they have learned in their final project.
Procedure:
1. Class work: finish your art project. Due tomorrow. No late work.
2. Video: “China.”
3. Charades games/Math 24 game (50only).
