Procedure and Homework Assignments for 10/29/08

Procedure for HS 1P (10/29/08)


Objective: Students will use action words to describe what they are doing and tell time.


  1. 1) Turn in your H/W.  2) Return all papers.    

          2) Quiz (Lesson 2 Part I) tomorrow.  Make sure you can tell time and write action words.

          3) Turn in any late work by the end of Thursday for grades.

   2.   Try on dry erase board: 1) telling time, 2) characters.

   3.   Learn more action vocabulary. 

   4.   Game time.  Three volunteers needed for reading slips.

 H/W: (1) Write new vocabulary, one row each.  Can turn it in tomorrow.  Due on next Monday (11/3).  (2) Read textbook pages 16-18.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (10/29)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to discriminate back nasal sounds.  2) Students will learn characters for basic greeting sentence patterns.


  1. 1) Turn in your H/W (2P only).  2) Return all papers.   

      2) Lesson 2 Part I Quiz tomorrow (back nasal sounds, characters—, , , , , , , , , , , , , ).    

2.   Practice on dry erase board (sounds and characters).

3.   Finish up “Back Nasal Sounds” handout (2P only).

4.   Model more characters (9 P only).

5.   Read textbook pages 7-9.

      6.   Game time, if time permits.




Procedure for MS 3P/5P (10/29/08)

Objectives: Students will be able to learn terms for family members and manipulate Chinese game: Tangram.


  1. 1) Return papers for editing.  2) Review for quiz.
  2. Quiz (numbers, Chinese characters). 
  3. Learn new terms (father, mother, older brother/sister, younger brother/sister).
  4. Activity: tangram pieces.

 H/W: Make index cards for family members.
