Procedures and Homework Assignments for 10/1/08

Procedure for HS 10 (10/1/08)

 

Objective: 1) Students will be able to express their preference of food or drink when they are hungry or thirsty.  2) Students will be able to state their skills (can do ….).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your homework.  2) Take one copy of square paper.  3) Can leave your workbook with Ms. Chang so that you do not have to bring it with you again tomorrow!
  2. Dictation on dry erase board (vocabulary, terms, sentences).
  3. Model stroke order for remaining characters.
  4. Read textbook (pages 93-100).  Make sentences. 

 

H/W: 1) Review for workbook tomorrow and quiz Friday (sentence patterns, vocabulary, and terms from before).  2) Write new characters as homework assignment, one row each.

 

 

Procedure for HS 20/90 (10/1/08)

 

Objective: 1) Students will be able to enhance their oral fluency through reading sentences and role play activities.  2) Students will be able to name terms for and identify relationships among family members.  3) Students will be able to say/tell/count numbers from 0 to 100 before Friday.

 

Procedure:

1.      Quiz (Counting numbers) due this Friday (20 points).

2.      Review terms from Monday (jiāfamily, yǒu have, … gè rén 個人… persons, suìyears old, ér zi兒子 son, nǚ ér 女兒 daughter, tā/he/she, qī zi 妻子wife, xiān shēng 先生husband).

3.      Dictation on dry erase board (new terms from Monday).

  1. Count numbers from 0-100.
  2. Read your sentences to your classmates (random selection, 20 only).
  3. Play game (family members).  Introduce oneself and the family to the class. 
  4. Continue Review Sheet #1.

 

H/W: 1) Practice reading sentences on Review Sheet #1.  2) Practice counting.

 

 

Procedure for MS 30 (10/1/08)

 

Objective: 1) Students will be able to master all direction terms.  2) Students will be able to name terms for and identify relationships among family members.

Procedure:

  1. Return all writing assignment papers and oral presentation papers. 
  2. Review new terms (directions—up, down, left, right, front, behind).
  3. Pair practice.  TPR exercise.
  4. Game: Pin the donkey tail.
  5. Review family members (father, mother, older/younger brothers, older/younger sisters, years old).
  6. Teach new terms (ér zi兒子 son, nǚ ér 女兒 daughter, qī zi 妻子wife, xiān shēng 先生husband, tā/he/she).  Pair practice.
  7. Play game (family members). 
  8. Teach new terms (weekdays), if times permits.

 

H/W: Memorize all direction terms.

 

 

Procedure for MS 50 (10/1/08)

 

Objective: Students will be able to enhance their oral fluency through presentation and game activity.

Procedure:

  1. Oral presentation (#1-#14).  Turn in your hard copy.
  2. Review family members (father, mother, older/younger brothers, older/younger sisters, years old).
  3. Teach new terms (ér zi兒子 son, nǚ ér 女兒 daughter, qī zi 妻子wife, xiān shēng 先生husband, tā/he/she).  Pair practice.
  4. Play game (family members), if time permits. 

 

H/W: #15-#27, practice your oral presentation and bring in your hard copy tomorrow.
