Procedures and Homework Assignments for 10/22/08

HS 1P (10/22/08)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will learn 5-7 new vocabulary for lesson two.  2) Students will have right geographic knowledge about China.  3) Students will review characters learned before through listening activity.

 

Procedure:

1.                  Take 3 handouts (stroke order, square paper, CD lyrics).

2.                  Go over the answers key to the Geography reading packet.

3.                  Listen to a music CD to review characters learned before.

4.                  Model 5-7 new vocabulary from lesson two.

5.                  Return quiz part II test papers.

 

H/W: Write new characters, one row each.

 

HS 2P/9P (10/22/08)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will acquire accurate geographic knowledge after reviewing the answers.  2) Students will learn front nasal vowels.  3) Students will review Chinese characters 1-10 through listening to a CD activity.  4) Students will learn 5 new characters from lesson two.

 

Procedure:

1.                  Take 3 handouts (stroke order, square papers, lyrics for CD). 

2.                  Go over the answer key to the Geography reading packet.

3.                  Listen to the CD to review number characters.

4.                  Finish up front nasal vowels.  Pair practice.  Check pronunciation.

5.                  Model stroke orders for new vocabulary.

 

H/W: write new vocabulary, one row each.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (10/22/08)

 

Objectives: Students will learn 10 new terms (numbers 1-10) today.

Procedure:

1.                  Review 14 terms before quiz.

2.                  Quiz.

3.                  Take notes (1-10).  Teach 10 new terms.  Teach stroke orders of Chinese characters for numbers 1-10. 

4.                  Pair practice.  Listen to CD for 3 songs about numbers.

5.                  Activity: chopsticks (3P only).

 

H/W: 1) Make 12 index cards (0, 100, 1-10).  2) Write twice for each Chinese character (1-10).
