Procedures and homework assignments for 10/7/08

Procedure for HS 1P (10/7/08)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to tell/write the date/weekday by linking/consolidating old and new vocabulary.  2) Students will be able to ask/answer the questions regarding date/weekday.       
Procedure:
1. 1) Turn in your homework.  2) Take one square paper.  3) Draw a number for presentation order.  4) Correction: 6 points for memorization of your skit.  40 points in total and convert to 20 points in grade book.
2. Dictation on dry erase board (today, yesterday, tomorrow, week, etc.).
3. Match weekdays.  Review two terms (星期, 禮拜).  Explain examples of the usage of characters (幾). 
4. Go over sentence patterns (handout from yesterday).  
5. Model stroke orders of new characters.
H/W: 1) Practice/Memorize your skit.  2) Write new characters, one row each.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (10/7/08)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to write numbers (8-10, and 100) and operators (+, =) in Chinese characters.  2) Students will be able to discriminate initial consonants.   
Procedure:
1. 1) Turn in your homework.  2) Take one copy of square paper. 
2. Try on dry erase board (consonants ‘zh’, ‘ch’ and characters 一 to 七).
3. Teach final consonants (ch sh).  Pair practice/checking.
4. Model new characters. 

H/W: 1) Practice blending.  2) Write Chinese characters 8-10, 100, +, = as homework assignment tonight, one row each.

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (10/7)

Objective: Students will be able to articulate math expressions in Chinese.

1.  Teach new terms (+, -, x, /, =).

2.  Apply to math expressions.

3.  Quiz is off.  We will have art project instead, still due this Friday.  No late work.  Go over requirments as a class.

4.  Answer students’ inquiry about terms they need for their project.
