Procedures and Homework Assignments for 11/3/08

Procedure for HS 1P (11/3/08)

 

Objective: Students will be able to construct a paragraph to describe their daily routine.

Procedure:

1.      (1) Turn in your H/W if you have not.  (2) Guest speaker (Mrs. Moseley) this Friday.  (3) Quiz Part II next Monday (writing, reading/listening comprehension).  (4) Bring in your workbook tomorrow.  (5) Need to know grades?  Talk to Ms. Chang after the class.  (6) New bulletin boards are coming for weekly homework assignments and objectives.  I will eventually write everything in Chinese.  7) Clean, washed socks needed!!        

2. Go over grading policy (only one day for late work with 50% credit, turn in at the beginning of the day, not working on it in the class) and participation slip (Use Mandarin Chinese more, reduce chatting/doodling in the class, bring in all materials—they all count for your grades.  It was 10 points in the first quarter, but will be 30 points in the 2nd quarter).  One pop quiz format homework grade each week to see you can read, speak, and write in Chinese.  Each day 4 random students take this quiz.  Ms. Chang won’t remind you of any missed work any more and she wants to have more activities, but you have to prepare yourself to get familiar with characters! –Study 30 minutes every day.     

3.   Monday sharing.

4. 1) Model 7 more new characters.  2) Listen to CD.  3) Return all papers. 

 

H/W: 1) One row for each new vocabulary.  2) Review all old/new vocabulary and ways to tell time.  3) Get ready!  Random drawing for reading sentences and writing characters tomorrow

 

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (11/3/08)

 

Objective: Students will be able to say/write all greetings.

Procedure:

1.                  1) Take one Class Participation slip.  2) Guest speaker (Mrs. Moseley) this Friday.  3) Quiz Part II this Thursday (listening/reading comprehension and writing).  4) Need to know your grades?  Talk to Ms. Chang after the class.  5)  Bring in your workbook tomorrow.  6) New bulletin boards are coming for weekly homework assignments and objectives.  I will eventually write everything in Chinese.  7) Clean, washed socked needed!!

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (11/3/08)

1.  Quiz this Friday.

2.  Monday sharing.

3.  Review 6 terms from last week.  Informal assessment.

4.  Teach 7 more terms (have, family, people, years old, measure word, and variation of two).

5.  Contruct three more sentences.  Pair practice.

H/W: Make index cards and review terms.
