Procedures and Homework Assignments for 12/19/08

Procedure for HS 1P (12/19/08)

Objective: Students will complete oral presentation and enjoy viewing a Chinese acrobatics DVD.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your field trip permission slip w/money. 2) Claim your poster/presentation hardcopy/rubrics. Incomplete work for 賀文捷, 賴詩婷, 畢麗絲, 費百麗, 包瑞絲, 施維明. Please talk to Ms. Chang for your oral presentation grades.

2. Oral presentation (董瑞明).

3. Questions? => e-mail Ms. Chang during the winter break.

4. Video viewing time (treat and H/W pass).

Procedure for HS 1P (12/17/08)

Objective: Students will accurately describe their house floor plan with a PPT, model, or poster presentation. Students will list 6 different rooms with their relative positions/locations in the house in this project.

H/W: Well prepare your oral presentation if you do not have the chance to do so.

Procedure:

1. 1) At the end of the class, Ms. Chang will collect any field trip permission slip w/money, if any. 2) You can check your quiz #7 grades at the end of the class.

Objective: Students will demonstrate their mastery of lesson 5 (part I) in the quiz. 2) Students will finish up their oral presentation for tomorrow.

H/W: Finalize your oral presentation. All work (poster, model, PPT and hardcopy) is due tomorrow regardless whether you present on Wednesday or Thursday.

Objective: Students will review “Review Sound#2” and all consonants/vowels handouts for their oral quiz tomorrow and winter break packet.

H/W: Sound out all sentences for oral quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect any permission slip, money, or chaperon form, if any. 2) Go over oral quiz rubric.

2. Sound out each sentence in Review Sounds #2 handout as a class.

3. Quick review of all consonants/vowels.

Objective: 1) Students will learn 4 terms for family members. 2) Students will learn to count from 0 to 50 through various activities/games. 3) Student work on the Chinese tangram piece game.

H/W: memorize 4 learned terms from today.

Procedure:

1. 1) Check H/W: 5 index cards. 2) Quick review and informal assessment.

2. Go over counting principle and count from 0 to 30 (3P) / 50 (9P).

3. Multiple game.

Procedure for HS 1P (12/15/08)

Objective: Students will review/write all sample questions to prepare themselves for the quiz tomorrow.

H/W: Study for quiz tomorrow and work on oral presentation.

Procedure:

1. 1) Check and go over workbook section I on page 25. 2) Take one set of field trip permission slip and an oral presentation rubric. Turn in the permission slip before this Friday w/money. Ask for chaperon medical form, if interested.

2. Draw a number for your oral presentation order. Any volunteers to be on Wednesday?

3. Pass out / Review study guide (sample questions for tomorrow—Writing Section III: workbook section E). Special characters (, , 毛筆, 書包, 剪刀, 車子, , 風箏, 足球 for 新的 / 舊的 / 破的 / 壞的).

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your H/W and/or index card. Take one copy of quick reminder of oral presentation. 2) Pass back all papers. Activity slip counts as bonus. 3) Quiz on 12/16. Oral presentation due at the beginning of the class on 12/17. You will present either on 12/17 or on 12/18. Draw your number on 12/15. Volunteer if you choose! Mr. Wilch is coming. 4) Go over oral presentation rubric.

Objective: Students will review vocabulary, sentence patterns, and reading comprehension for reading comprehension for quiz on next Monday.
