Procedure for HS 1P (12/5/08)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain background knowledge of Chinese pictographic characters.

H/W: Read textbook page s 29-30.

Procedure:

1. Informal assessment. Practice on dry erase board.

2. Read sentence patterns on textbook page 35.

3. Video Viewing: Chinese Word for Horse (12 minutes).

4. Matching activity for review.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (12/05/08)

Objectives: Students will gain background knowledge of Chinese pictographic characters.

H/W: One row for each new characters

Procedure:

1. Informal assessment. Practice on dry erase board.

2. Read Review Sounds #2 as a class.

3. Model new characters (shu, bao, xiang, pi)

4. Video Viewing: Chinese Word for Horse (12 minutes).

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (12/05/08)

1. Quiz next Monday.

2. Review 14 terms. Informal assessment.

3. Skit.

4. Video viewing (“The Chinese word for Horse”, “Travis Travels to China”)

H/W: Study for quiz/Review all learned terms.
