Homework Assignments and Procedures for 1/7/09

Procedure for HS 1P (1/7/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will work on their semester exam writing section/pen pal project. 2) Students will continue Lesson 3.

H/W: 1) Write one row for each new character. Memorize new characters. 2) Your draft of 5 sentences.

Procedure:

1. 1) Report to your 3rd period class and come up to lobby before 9:25. Our bus driver’s name is Mr. Memmer. Address him when you get on/off the school bus. 2) Your New Year’s Resolutions will be returned for your reflection again at the end of the school year in mid June.

2. Model new characters (, , , , ).

3. Read text pages 29-31 as a class. Preview on page 32.

4. Go over sentence patterns for Semester Exam: Writing Section. Write your draft. Turn in the first five sentences tomorrow.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (1/7/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will review sentence patterns. 2) Students will continue Lesson 6.

H/W: 1) Write one row for each new character. Memorize new characters. 2) Practice writing sentence pattern.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one square paper for H/W today. 2) Turn in your characters H/W. 3) Pass around the list to write down your e-mail address. Ms. Chang sends out e-mails for instructional and communicational purposes. 4) Report to your 3rd period class and come up to lobby before 9:25. Our bus driver’s name is Mr. Memmer. Address him when you get on/off the school bus. 5) Your New Year’s Resolutions will be returned for your reflection again at the end of the school year in mid June. 6) Bring your camera and take many pictures during the field trip. Ms. Chang needs pictures for our year-end CD.

  4. Review sample sentence patterns (How are you, Who is she, This is a ruler, I am … years old). Write down sentence patterns for your own record and your reference.

Procedure for MS 3p/5p (1/7/09)

1.  1) Copy notes.  2) Use white crayons for your black colored strips.

2.  Informal assessment.

3.  Teach 3 more colors and 3 more supplementary terms (xi, huan, zui).

4.  Construct one sentence (I like … color).  Collect your draft of four sentences.

5.  Prepare for the game (Pin the tail on the donkey) for tomorrow.  Divide into groups of 4.  Write the names of the group members.  Teach 4 terms (up, down, left, right) — 5P only.
