Procedures and Homework Assignments for 2/27/09

Procedure for HS 1P (2/27/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will work on their letter to the pen pal in China. 2) Students will review verbs.

功課: Finalize your letters (pictures and drawings).

Procedure:

1. 1) Check your H/W (2 copies of letters). 2) Audacity program issue.

2. Continue the Verbs handout.

3. Pair activity: make 10 sentences with learned verbs (at least 5 characters per sentence). Collect.

4. 1) Charades game. 2) 10 questions, if time allows.

Procedure for HS 2P/5P (2/27/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up their PowerPoint presentation. 2) Students will continue to learn characters in lesson 8. 3) Students will review Chinese terms through a guessing game activity.

功課: Review lesson 8 all characters/phrases.

Procedure:

1. 1) Check your H/W WB pages. 2) Check key to the WB pages. 3) Audacity program issue.

2. Finish up PowerPoint presentation (2P: Kevin, Stephen, Ryan. 9P: Michael, Zachary, Nate).

3. Learn new characters (, , , , ).

4. Group activity: 10 questions game.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (2/27/09)

Objective: Students will learn Chinese terms for body parts through two games.

H/W: Bring in your art supplies and/or index cards.

Procedure:

1. Art project due in class next Monday.

2. Practice your oral presentation with another partner.

3. Review terms for body parts. Song time (Head and shoulder, Knee, and Toes).

4. Game time (Simon Says, Who’s the Leader, 20 questions).

Procedure for HS 1P (2/26/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will work on their letter to the pen pals in China. 2) Students will review verbs.

H/W: Get two pictures (school pictures, etc) of yourself.

Procedure:

1. 1) Get two colored papers. 2) Class pictures will be taken tomorrow.

2. Go over Verbs handout. Make sentences.

3. Make two copies of your composition in the semester exam. Design background with your favorite artwork. Two copies will be counted as class participation grades. One copy is sent out to the Hubei Foreign School and one copy will be showcased in the bulletin board for Chinese I students and guests to review. Collect at the end.

4. Dictation (?), if time allows.

Procedure for HS 2P/5P (2/26/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up their PowerPoint presentation. 2) Students will review lesson 8.

H/W: Workbook pages (49 Section A, 50 Section C and 51 Sec. D).

Procedure:

  1. Lesson 8 quiz next Thursday (2/5/09).
  2. qui presentation (2P: Kevin, Stephen, Ryan, Trey, Jae Min, Anna. 9P: Michael, Mario, Zachary, Amelia, Nate, Brianna, Kara, Victoria).
  3. Matching activity.
  4. Dictation.
  5. Read text book pages 66-68.
  6. Learn new characters, if time allows.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (2/26/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn body parts for games (Simon says, Who’s the leader).

H/W: Practice your oral presentation.

Procedure:

  1. Return all papers (draft #2).
  2. Pair practice oral presentation draft.
  3. Teach new terms (body parts).
  4. Game time. 1) Simon says. 2) Who’s the leader.
