Procedure for HS 1P (2/12/09)

Objectives: Students will be reviewing all the terms they have learned through various activities (listening, matching, etc).

Objectives: Students will review lesson 7 quiz through working on sample questions.

Procedure:

2. Matching activity. (動物 => animals). Textbook is allowed for zodiac animals.

Procedure for HS 1P (2/11/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will read passages on text pages 43/44 fluently. 2) Students will finish up learning all terms of describing how clothes fit.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Bring in your workbook tomorrow for listening activity. 2) Oral quiz will be on 2nd floor Dell lab in the future for lessons 5/6/7/8/9. The training session will be announced. 3) Interest in viewing “Joy Luck Club?” 4) Lesson 4 quiz on 2/18. 5) Skits due on 2/19. Rubric will be distributed. Make sure you use at least 5 clothes items, 5 descriptive words and 5 colors in your skit.
  2. Dictation. Try on dry erase board.
  3. Model new characters (, , , , ). Review adverbs (, , ). Use “” to change a statement into negative or change an adjective into opposite meaning. 好吃 => 不好吃; => 不大; 知道 => 不知道; => 不是.

Objectives: Students will prepare for their quiz through various learning activities. 2) Students will gain knowledge on Chinese zodiac and its origin.

功課: Review for lesson 7 quiz.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one Lesson 7 Study Guide. 2) Lesson 7 quiz this Friday. Practice sample questions tomorrow. 3) Finish up/Interested in viewing “Joy Luck Club?” 4) Oral quiz will be on 2nd floor Dell lab in the future for lessons 8/9/10/11. The training session will be announced. 5) PowerPoint presentation is due on 2/24. Rubric will be distributed. Get digital pictures for your paragraph (family members, pets, etc). Learn Chinese character input from computer keyboard.

Objective: Students will finish up learning all terms needed for unit #3 (family).

H/W: 1) Memorize all 7 supplementary terms.  2) Bring in a reader or some work for tomorrow when Ms. Chang reteach.

Procedure:

1. Informal assessment (numbers 1-6). Writing Chinese characters on board and counting from any number to loop the cycle.

2. Teach new terms (numbers 7-10, 100, and 0)—pinyin, meaning and characters. Take notes. Pair practice.

3. Show and Tell –Chinese publications. Explain Chinese counting principle. Count numbers from 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.

4. Cheerios time! Practice chopsticks.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your H/W. 2) Scheduling consultation (level recommendations) starts today for the last 5 minutes at the end of class (Ms. Chang reviews/signs-off). 3) Ms. Chang is not available after school due to a departmental staff meeting at 2:30.

2. Informal assessment. Call out 6 colors and raise your flash cards.

3. Oral quiz. Randomly draw 2 passages and read to Ms. Chang. Meanwhile study your textbook pages 51-53 for new expressions and character list for 5 characters. Use your time wisely and effectively.

功課: 1) 生字 (shēngzì) 一行 (yīháng). 2) Study for your oral quiz. 3) Memorize 6 colors (white, green, blue, black, red, purple).

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one H/W paper, character list and passage slip. 2) Oral quiz (2 passages from lesson 3 text) tomorrow. Simple rubric is used for grading. 3) Scheduling consultation starts tomorrow.
