Procedures and Homework Assignments for 2/11/09

Procedure for HS 1P (2/11/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will read passages on text pages 43/44 fluently. 2) Students will finish up learning all terms of describing how clothes fit.

功課: 1) 生字一行 2) Workbook page 35.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Bring in your workbook tomorrow for listening activity. 2) Oral quiz will be on 2nd floor Dell lab in the future for lessons 5/6/7/8/9. The training session will be announced. 3) Interest in viewing “Joy Luck Club?” 4) Lesson 4 quiz on 2/18. 5) Skits due on 2/19. Rubric will be distributed. Make sure you use at least 5 clothes items, 5 descriptive words and 5 colors in your skit.
  2. Dictation. Try on dry erase board.
  3. Model new characters (, , , , ). Review adverbs (, , ). Use “” to change a statement into negative or change an adjective into opposite meaning. 好吃 => 不好吃; => 不大; 知道 => 不知道; => 不是.
  4. Take turns reading text page 43. Read text page 44 as a class.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (2/11/09)

Objectives: Students will prepare for their quiz through various learning activities. 2) Students will gain knowledge on Chinese zodiac and its origin.

功課: Review for lesson 7 quiz.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one Lesson 7 Study Guide. 2) Lesson 7 quiz this Friday. Practice sample questions tomorrow. 3) Finish up/Interested in viewing “Joy Luck Club?” 4) Oral quiz will be on 2nd floor Dell lab in the future for lessons 8/9/10/11. The training session will be announced. 5) PowerPoint presentation is due on 2/24. Rubric will be distributed. Get digital pictures for your paragraph (family members, pets, etc). Learn Chinese character input from computer keyboard.

4. Read Chinese zodiac pages 63-65.

5. Go over study guide, if time allows.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (2/11/09)

H/W: Finish all 4 products tonight (2 paper-cutting patterns and 2 origami).

Procedure:

1.  Unit #3 quiz next Tuesday 2/17/09.  10 out of all 13 terms.

2.  Informal assessment.  / Reteach 7 supplementary terms to students who were absent yesterday.

3.  Origami time!
