Procedures and Homework Assignments for 2/19/09

Procedure for HS 1P (2/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will review for lesson 4 quiz. 2) Students will present their skit in pairs.

功課: 1) Study sentence patterns (text pages 48-50) for lesson 4 quiz tomorrow. 2) Practice reading text fluently.

Procedure:

1. 1) Oral quiz (reading passages from textbook pages 43-47) on 2/25. 2) Makeup work/tests are due the end of today. 2) Dr. McAloon from OSU will talk about learning strategies/OSU flagship program to all 3 periods of students on 3/13. Prepare questions for him, please.

2. Skit.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (2/19/09)

Objectives: Students will be able to express their nationality and language ability. 2)

功課: 生字一行

Procedure:

  1. 1) Oral quiz (reading passages from pages) on 2/25 (2nd floor Dell lab for 2P and media center for 9P). 2) Dr. McAloon from OSU will talk about learning strategies/OSU flagship program to all 3 periods of students on 3/13. Prepare questions for him, please. 3) All makeup work/test are due the end of today.
  2. Informal assessment.
  3. Learn new characters (, , , 西, , ).
  4. Charades game. Divide into 2/3 groups. Come up with questions and everyone needs to perform to play. Students who have missed work will use this time to complete.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (2/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to write/say their birthday in Chinese today. 2) Students

H/W: 1) Memorize all 4 supplementary terms. 2) Complete 7 sentences.

Procedure:

1. 1) All makeup quiz/work are due today. 2) Assign helpers for students who were absent yesterday. Helpers will teach absent students two sentence patterns (phone # and address).

2. Informal assessment (all 11 colors).

3. Teach supplementary terms (birthday day, year, month, day). Take notes. Pair practice.

4. Compare/Contrast American/Chinese formats for date.

5. Teach 7th sentence pattern. Construct 7th sentence. Collect tomorrow.

6. Pass out handouts (animals, sports). Talk about preferences of colors, sports and animals for future 3 sentences.
