Procedures and Homework Assignments for 3/3/09

Procedure for HS 1P (3/3/09)

Objectives: Students will learn to ask for and express amounts.

功課: 1) 生字一行. 2) Collect Chinese terms for fruits, stationary, etc.

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect all semester writing section papers. 2) Return your pen pal letters, if necessary. Fix the mistakes and submit two copies again. 3) Tyler, Marissa, Jim, Christina & Candace make an appointment w/Ms. Chang for audacity recording. No grades for you so far!!

2. Learn new characters (, , , , ).

3. Review terms: “” is used for ten-cent units; “” is used for cent units; “” is used for half dollars. ” is “buy” and “” is “sell.

4. Pair activity: 1) Read textbook page 55 first half and page 62. 2) Practice saying the amount. 3) Game time tomorrow.

5. Pair activity: List 10 items of your choice for the skit topic. Collect to share tomorrow.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (3/3/09)

Objectives: Students will review workbook pages to prepare for the quiz on Thursday (3/5).

功課: Review all characters, phrases and sentence patterns on textbook pages 70-73.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Check your WB pages H/W. 2) Anna (2P)/Kaitlyn, Justin, Kay Leigh, Zachary (9P) makes an appointment w/Ms. Chang for audacity recording.
  2. Check the key to WB pages 53-54.
  3. PowerPoint presentation (Kevin—2P; Michael, Zachary, Nate—9P).
  4. Listen to CD (WB page 50 Section B). Check the key.
  5. Pair activity: WB page 52.
  6. Read textbook page 69.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (3/3/09)

Objectives: Students will present a 10-sentence paragraph about themselves.

H/W: N/A

Procedure:

1. Return all papers (quizzes, drafts, etc). 2) Collect all class notes.

2. Random drawing for the oral presentation.

3. Oral presentation

4. Number games (multiple, 24 game)—3P only.

Objectives: Students will prepare for lesson 5.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your two copies of letters. 2) Take one copy of Lesson 5 character list. 3) Questions on lesson 4 quiz or lesson 4 oral quiz?

2. Monday sharing.

3. Audacity recording sharing.

4. Question for the Verb handout?

5. Browse through lesson 5 first. Brainstorm ideas for projects (fruit recipes, skit, etc).

6. Learn new characters (, , ).

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (3/2/09)

Objectives: Students will learn sentence patterns and two more characters to finish up lesson 8.

功課: 1) 生字一行 2) Workbook pages 53/54.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character H/W. 2) Take one copy of Lesson 8 Study Guide.

2. Monday sharing.

3. PowerPoint Presentation, if any.

4. Audacity recording sharing.

5. Continue the Verb handout (2P only).

6. Learn last two characters (, ).

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (3/2/09)

Objectives: Students will apply what they have learned from the last 5 weeks to complete an art project in class.

H/W: N/A.

Procedure:

1. 1) Bring in your class notes tomorrow. 2) Return your quiz papers (5P only).

2. Go over the requirement of the art project.

3.   Class work: art project. Collect at the end of the class.
