Procedures and Homework Assignments for 3/9/09

Procedure for HS 1P (3/9/09)

Objective: Students will 1) share what they did over the weekend, 2) review learned terms through a hunting game, and 3) learn new characters.
功課: N/A.
Procedure:
1.    1) Study “Learn the Sentences” section in the textbook and workbook pages for your quiz.  2) For future PowerPoint presentation, submit your file before class begins on the due date.  3) For future audacity oral quiz, listen to your own recording before you drop your file(s) into Ms. Chang’s folder.  4) Check Ms. Chang’s website for daily procedure if you need to be absent for any particular day.  5) Ms. Chang won’t be available tomorrow afternoon due to a staff meeting.
2.    Monday sharing.
3.    Group conversation with cards.
4.    Learn new characters (香, 蕉, 橘).

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (3/9/09)

Objective: Students will prepare themselves for the new Lesson 9.
功課: Fix your PowerPoint Presentation content.
Procedure:
1.    1) Take one copy of Lesson 9 character list.  2) Study “Learn the Sentence” section in the textbook, study guide and workbook pages for your quiz.  3) For future PowerPoint presentation, submit your file before class begins on the due date.  4) For future audacity oral quiz, listen to your own recording before you drop into Ms. Chang’s folder.  5) Check Ms. Chang’s website for daily procedure if you are absent for any particular day.  6) Ms. Chang won’t be available tomorrow afternoon due to a staff meeting.

3.    Go over some common mistakes in PowerPoint presentation.
4.    Finish textbook pages 74-76.
5.    Browse through Lesson 9.
6.    Learn new characters (游, 泳, 騎), if time allows (2P only).

Ms 3P/5P (3/9/09)

Objectives: 1) Students and teacher will get to know one another.  2) Students will learn basic tone marks, greeting terms, etc.

H/W: 1) Signature slip.  2) Student Inventory.

Procedure:

1.  Pass out Ms. Chang’s Classroom Rules.  Go over the handout as a class.

2.  Self-Introduction.

3.  Pass out Chinese Hanyu Piniyin and Basic Greetings handouts.

4.  Go over the handouts partially.

5.  Teach two terms (Ni Hao and Zai Jiang)–How are you and Good bye.

6.  Pass out the Student Inventory as H/W tonight.
