Procedures and Homework Assignments for 3/18/09

Procedure for HS 1P (3/18/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn review learned terms through a matching activity. 2) Students will continue to learn lesson 5 new characters.
功課: 生字一行
1. Matching activity.
2. Learn new characters (店, 市, 場, 共, 給).

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (3/18/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to learn lesson 9 new characters. 2) Students will prepare themselves for lesson 9 skit.
功課: 生字一行
1. (2P only) Return all PowerPoint papers.
2. 1) Turn in your slip of skit choices and pair member names. 2) Take one copy of skit rubric.
3. Go over the rubric. Lesson 9 skit due on 3/30 or 3/31.
4. Learn new characters (喜, 歡, 運, 動, 打).

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (3/18/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain knowledge about legends of Chinese zodiac animals and giant pandas. 2) Students will try 2 cutting patterns (longevity and double happiness).
H/W: Memorize numbers 6-10.
1. Return all reading packets and quiz papers.
2. A quick review of numbers 1-5.
3. (5P only) Teach Chinese characters 1-5. Practice writing Chinese characters.
4. (5P only) Pass out Chinese zodiac handout (part II). Read the handout as a class.
5. Pass out 2 paper-cutting patterns. Cut patterns. Collect as class participation grades.
6. Flash cards activity to review numbers.
