Procedures and Homework Assignments for 3/24/09

Procedure for HS 1P (3/24/09)

Objective: 1) Students will practice listening comprehension for quiz. 2) Students will work on skit.

功課: WB Pages 38 / 40 (Sections C & E).

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character H/W. 2) Check your WB page 37. 3) Take one copy of “Quick Reminder of Lesson 5 Skit Contents.”

2. Go over the key to WB page 37.

3. Go over the Skit Contents reminder.

4. Listen to CD (WB Section C, Section D—summarize the items for each store and the customers are Jane, Tim, Claire, Ben, Peter, and Sue; Section K).

5. Check the key.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (3/24/09)

Objective: 1) Students will practice listening comprehension for quiz. 2) Students will work on skit.

功課: WB Pages 60-62 Sections G / I.

Procedure:

1. Check your WB pages 56/58 H/W.

2. Go over the key to WB pages.

3. Listen to CD (WB pages 55/57/60 Sections A/C/F).

4. Go over the key to WB pages.

5. Pair activity: work on your skit.

6. (2P) Read textbook pages 77-79.

(9P) Watch the movie “Chinese character for Horse.”

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (3/24/09)

Objectives: Students will learn to count from 0 to 100 based on 11 learned numbers.

H/W: (3P) Memorize all 11 numbers and 11 Chinese characters for quiz on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. (3P) Quick review of numbers and chacters (1-6).

2. Explain Chinese counting principle. Count from 1 to 30.

3. Teach Chinese characters (7-10, 100). Pair practice. Quiz on each other.

4. Newspaper hunting activity (characters 1-10 and 100).

5. (5P) Quick review of family members.

6. Count from 0 to 100.

7. Pass out supplementary words handout. Introduce two words (family/house, years old). Build two sentences.

8. Try Tangram pieces activity.

9. Cultural reading: Chinese Immigrants and Chinatown.
