Procedures and Homework Assignments for 5/29/09

Procedure for HS 1P (5/29/09)

 

Objective: Students will work on all writing sample questions.

H/W: Study for writing final on 6/3.  2) WB pages/Sample questions are due on 6/1.

Procedure:

1.      1) Start Chinese radicals unit next Monday.  2) Take one copy of Common Radical handout.

2.      Finish Lesson 11 Text reading (Kevin, Tyler).

3.      Class work: finish up all sample questions and workbook pages.  Due next Monday.

 

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (5/29/09)

 

Objective: Students will review all writing sample questions. 

H/W: Study for writing final on 6/3.

Procedure:

1.      (2P only) Demo by Chinese 2 student.

2.      Presentation (2P: Kevin, Jae-Min; 9P: Zach).

3.      (9P only) Finish up Study Guide.

4.      Check key to workbook pages on SmartBoard.

5.      Work on sample questions.   No answers will be given.

6.      Listen to CD workbook page Section A.  Check the key.

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (5/29/09)

 

Objectives: Students will finish their writing about themselves. 

H/W: Study for quiz #4 on next Monday (6/1/09).

Procedure:

  1. Informal assessment.
  2. Go over the sports handout.  Teach/Review terms again.  Teach supplementary terms (ti cao, tiao wu, hua xue ban, etc).
  3. Go over the animal handout.  Review terms again.  Teach any supplementary terms. 
  4. Write the last two sentences.  Collect draft #2. 
  5. (5P only) Teach “Happy Birthday” song in Chinese.

Procedure for HS 1P (5/28/09)

 

Objective: 1) Students will continue to present their Lesson6+Lesson 7 skit today.  2) Students will start reviewing final exam.     

H/W: Sample questions.  It is due next Monday (count for grades).    

Procedure:

1.      1)   Take one copy of Final Exam Writing Section Sample Questions.  Make sure you have the handout for Lesson 12 sentence patterns. 

2)      All missed work has to be made up by the end of this week.  No more makeup work is accepted next week.  (Kevin, Christina, Tyler).    

3)      Final exam writing section is on next Wednesday, June 3.

Procedure:

1.      Informal assessment (all eleven colors).

2.      Showcase time: more art project samples. 

3.      Teach new terms (like, like… the best).

4.      Writing two sentences: address and preference of colors.

5.      Pass out sports/animal handouts.  Go over terms.

Objective: Students will finish up their skit in class today.

H/W: Practice your skit over the weekend.

Procedure:

1. 1) Mr. Wilch’s visit next Tuesday. 2) Bring in your flash drive and upload it onto Ms’s Chang’s computer on Tuesday morning if you apply video shooting. 3) Ms. Chang will talk to the International Festival’s volunteers (Dana, Louisa, Ray, Candace).

2. Seniors, collect your textbook(s). Ms. Chang already e-mailed two files to your e-mail account.

3. Finish your Lesson 7 text passages (Kevin, Tyler, Candace, Christina).

4. Skit presentation (Dean, Christina, Marissa).

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (5/22/09)

Objectives: Students will read their Lesson 11 text passages today.

H/W: Finish up your PowerPoint presentation project.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Mr. Wilch’s visit next Tuesday. 2) E-mail Ms. Chang your PP file over the weekend and bring in your flash drive just in case. Otherwise upload it onto Ms. Chang’s computer on Tuesday morning if you do not e-mail me over the weekend. Make sure you have a printout for me. Bonus points for those who present without looking into your own notes.
  2. (2P) Pass back/review your Lesson 11 quiz paper. Collect.

Objectives: Students will take a Lesson 11 quiz today.

H/W: Finish up your PowerPoint presentation project. It is due on next Tuesday. Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review. 2) Ask Ms. Chang questions/Finish up your oral quiz after you turn in your quiz paper. 3) No heavy background color on your PP slides. 4) PP presentation weighs a big chunk of your 4th quarter grades—90 out of 396! Be serious! 10% penalty (9 points) for each day late. Our 4th quarter grades are almost finalized after next Tuesday!
