Procedures and Homework Assignments for 5/5/09

Procedure for HS 1P (5/5/09)

Objective: Students will prove their proficiency of lesson 6 materials through a quiz today.

功課: N/A


  1. 1) Turn in your skit, if your have not done so. 2) Reserve 5/21 for International Festival (4-6 PM).
  2. Quick review before quiz.
  3. Quiz. Good luck.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (5/5/09)

Objectives: Students will start learning new characters in lesson 11 today. .

功課: 生字一行.


1. 1) Return all papers (art project, Audacity, quiz) for review. Collect quiz papers and Audacity record. Grades will be entered by the end of today. 2) Reserve 5/21 for International Festival (4-6 PM).

2. Learn new characters (, , , 西, ). Read three sentences on text page 93.

3. Brainstorm session (why heads?). Different categories of food (seafood, Tofu, meat, vegetables, ….etc). Browse through Chinese cook book for preferences/ideas of Chinese food.

4. Pass out your own pair of chopsticks and practice using/holding chopsticks to pick up food items, if time allows. Relay game this Friday.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (5/4/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will cut two Chinese paper patterns today (double happiness and longevity). 2) Students will read passages about Chinese food/seasonings/utensils and browse Chinese cook books.

H/W: Review learned terms.


1. Turn in H/W (signature slip, Student Inventory, reading packet)?

2. Quick review of learned terms (Ni Hao, Wo Shi, Ni Shi, Zai Jian, Zhang Lao Shi => Zao An/Zao/Ni Zao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi).

3. Pass out/cut out two paper patterns. Collect two products at the end of the period.

4. Culture reading.

5. Browse through cook books
