Procedures and Homework Assignments for 5/18/09

Procedure for HS 1P (5/18/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice speaking skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will work on their skit, study for quiz, or practice reading text in pairs or independently.

H/W: 1) Practice reading all Lesson 7 text passages. 2) Study Lesson 7 for quiz.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your H/W WB pages 58/62 for bonus points. 2) Stay in the classroom for reading passages this Wednesday. Computers in the MC classroom do not have the Audacity program installed. 3) Confirm volunteers for the International Festival ($2 admission). 4) Bring your WB tomorrow.
  2. Monday sharing.
  3. Class time: work on skit, study for quiz, or practice reading passages.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (5/18/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice speaking skill through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will practice speaking skill through a conversation card activity.

H/W: 1) Practice reading Lesson 11 text passages. 2) Continue working on PP presentation. 3) Review Lesson 11.

Procedure:

  1. 1) 2P students stay in the classroom for reading passages on this Wednesday. Computers in the MC classroom do not have the Audacity program installed. 9P students go to MC main classroom for Audacity recording. 2) Confirm volunteers for the International Festival ($2 admission). 3) Bring your WB tomorrow.
  2. Monday sharing.
  3. Conversation time.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (5/18/09)

Objective: 1) Students will know their peers better through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will take unit #2 quiz and start unit #3 today.

H/W: Review learned terms (father, mother, older brother, & younger brother).

Procedure:

  1. Quick review before quiz (1-10, 0, 100, and Chinese characters).
  2. Quiz.
  3. Monday sharing.
  4. Teach new terms (father, mother, older brother, younger brother).
  5. Go over the reading packet as a class.
  6. Culture reading: Addressing family members.
