Procedures and Homework Assignments for 5/19/09

Procedure for HS 1P (5/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will review/practice their workbook for the quiz on Thursday.

H/W: 1) Practice reading lesson 7 text passages. 2) Study lesson 7.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson 7 Study Guide. 2) Ms. Chang checks your H/W WB pages 58/62 for bonus points. 3) Stay in the classroom for reading passages this Wednesday. Computers in the MC classroom do not have the Audacity program installed. 4) Confirm volunteers for the International Festival ($2 admission).
  2. Check answer key to pages 58/62.
  3. Listen to WB page 63 Section H.
  4. Go over Lesson 7 Study Guide.
  5. Reading textbook pages 82-85.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (5/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will review/work on their workbook for quiz on Thursday. 2) Students will practice reading Lesson 11 text passages.

H/W: 1) Practice reading lesson 11 text passages. 2) Study lesson 11.

Procedure:

  1. 1) 2P students stay in the classroom for reading passages on this Wednesday. Computers in the MC classroom do not have the Audacity program installed. 9P students go to MC main classroom for Audacity recording. 2) Confirm volunteers for the International Festival ($2 admission). 3) Notes on characters (, ).
  2. Listen to WB page 70 Section B. Check the key.
  3. Work on WB pages 69/73. Check the key.
  4. Go over Lesson 11 Study Guide.
  5. Read Lesson 11 Text passages.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P (5/19/09)

Objective: Students will learn supplementary terms and start their writing assignment.

H/W: Memorize another 6 terms.

Procedure:

1. Return all papers (reading packet, quiz).

2. Informal assessment (father, mother, older/younger brother, older/younger sister).

3. Teach new terms (sui, sheng ri, nian, yue, ri). Explain/compare the differences between Chinese/English date formats.

4. Writing sentences.

5. Culture reading: Chinese birthday and Chinese calendar.
