Procedures and Homework Assignments for 6/4/09

Procedure for HS 1P (6/4/09)

Objective: 1) Students will look into available learning website resource. 2) Students will hear a PP presentation by one peer student. 3) Students will finish up the introduction of radical unit.

H/W: Review the study guide for final exam multiple choice section.

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect your Chinese II workbook for next year. Do not throw away. 2) Collect your Chinese II textbook. 3) Copy of Chinese II Lessons 8, 9 and 10 will be distributed next year (or next week?). 4) Tyler finishes up sentences for seniors.

2. Use publisher’s website (http://student.nihaoseries.com/) for reference.

3. Dancing/Singing performance: by Louisa Armstrong/Kari Treasure, Dana Buzzelli/Ray Bondad.

4. Finish up Radical unit.

5. Return/review your 2nd Semester Final exam (writing section) paper. Collect.

Procedure for HS 2P/9P (6/4/09)

  4. Dance performance: by Louisa Armstrong/Kari Treasure.
  5. Finish up Radical unit.

Procedure for HS 1P/2P/9P (6/3/09)

 

Objective: Students will demonstrate their mastery of materials in 2nd semester writing section semester exam today. 

H/W: Review Study Guide for semester exam

Procedure:

1.      1) Turn in your note card for Ms. Chang to check before you use it.  2) Turn in your textbook when you submit your exam paper.  Friday is the last to return your textbook to avoid seeing staff in the office and paying fines.

2.      Quick review.

3.      Quiz time.

 

MS 3P/5P (6/3/09)

 

Objective: Students will learn body parts for the games today.

N/W: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in any make up work (3P: Taras).  2) Bring in your art supplies, note cards, etc for art project tomorrow.  It is due on Friday. 
  2. Pass out Body Parts handout.  Teach new terms. 
  3. Sing “Head, Shoulder, Knee and Toe” song in Chinese.
  4. Introduce “Simon Says (Chang Lao Shi says)” and “Follow the Leader” games
  5. Game time.

Procedures and Homework Assignments for 6/2/09

Procedure for HS 1P/2P/9P (6/2/09)

 

Objective: Students will compose paragraphs for their graduating seniors.

H/W: Study for Writing Semester Exam (Wednesday, 6/3).

Procedure:

1.      Pass out notebook papers for writing.  A minimum of two sentences (1st period) or one sentence (2nd and 9th period) for each senior in the class.

2.      Collect note cards, if any.   

 

Procedures for MS 3P/5P (6/2/09)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will gain knowledge about food balance, bean curd diet, family meal and forma feast through culture reading.  2) Students will gain knowledge about scenic and historical sites in China.

H/W: N/A

Procedure:

  1. Pass back 10 sentences and quiz papers. 
  2. Watch DVD “Scenic Spots and Historical Sites in China (1)”.
  3. Cultural reading: “Food balance, Bean curd in Chinese diet, Family meal, & Formal feast”.

Procedures and Homework Assignments for 6/1/09

Procedure for HS 1P/2P/9P (6/1/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their speaking skill through Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will start Chinese radicals to further their understanding of Chinese characters.

H/W: Study for Writing Semester Exam (Wednesday, 6/3).

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang is not available after school tomorrow due to a staff meeting. 2) Ms. Chang will start collecting textbooks from Wednesday to Friday. A list of fines (from $1-$5) and names of students who damage the textbook or do not return the book will be sent to main office right after school on Friday. 3) There will be a revised schedule (Honors Assembly) for tomorrow. 1st period starts at 7:30-7:50, HR: 7:55-8:00, report to gym from 8:00. Assembly:8:10-10:00, 2nd period starts at 10:25-10:45, 9th period starts at 2:00-2:20. 4) Start collecting your flash cards for Wednesday.

Objectives: 1) Students will take a quiz today. 2) Students will review numbers from 1-100 to play multiple game. 3) Students will know their peer better through a Monday sharing routine.

Procedure:

  1. Quick review before quiz.
  2. Quiz.
  3. (3P only) 1) Ms. Chang won’t be available tomorrow due to an Honors Assembly at HS—3P only. 2) Art project is due on Friday (6/5) with a minimum requirement of 10 Chinese terms/characters.
  4. Monday sharing.
  5. Review counting (1-100).
  6. Play multiple game.
  7. (5P only) Pass out Body Parts handout. Go over/teach terms. Continue tomorrow.
