Daily Procedures for 9/10/09

HS 1P/9P (9/10/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Practice listening skill to discriminate tones. 2) Learn Chinese characters for numbers (4-10, 100).

Homework: Review all new terms (classroom expressions & numbers).

Procedure:

1. 1) MS students bus schedule. Write down extended HR dates. Next Monday extended HR. First period starts at 8:05? 2) Type your 5-sentence paragraph (Monday sharing).

2. 1) Dictation: Classroom expression (5 terms, numbers: 0-10). 2) Dictation: tone marks. Try on dry erase board.

3. Teach new characters (4-9, 100).

4. Hunting Chinese character activity.

HS 2P (9/10/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Prepare and review for quiz tomorrow. 2) Continue learning new lesson.

功課: Review Chinese I text (lessons 2-12). .

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character and sample question homework. 2) Return all papers (paragraphs, characters, etc). 3) Double check book cover.

2. Group review activity: flash cards.

3. Dictation. Read passages (Chinese II: lesson 6/pages 70-71; Chinese III: lesson 8/pages 93-94). Study supplementary terms (Chinese II: #14-15; Chinese III: #3-9) and sentence patterns (Chinese II: pages 75-top of 76; Chinese III: pages 99-top of 100).

4. Go over key to sample questions.

MS 3P/5P (9/10/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Prepare for quiz on next Monday. 2) Finish up teaching basic 12 numbers.

Homework: Review all learned terms (classroom expressions), numbers (0-10, 100), Chinese characters (0-10, 100, sun, moon, mountain, water, fire, mouth, people, tree)

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your 8-character homework. 2) Return all your papers.

2. Quick review of numbers (0-10, 100) and classroom expressions.

3. Learn Chinese character (four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, & hundred).

4. Teach numbers (6-10, 100): pronunciation and Chinese characters. Pair practice.

5. Newspaper activity: hunting characters (0, 1-10, 100).
