Procedures for 9/21/09

HS 1P (9/21/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Learn to blend basic consonants w/simple vowels. 2) Students polish speaking skill through Monday sharing routine.

Homework: 1) Practice blending consonants w/vowels. 2) Practice counting from 0-100 & blending consonants/vowels for audacity on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Check book cover. Due today. 2) Turn in your 8-character assignment if you have not done so. 3) Take one set of handout. 4) Audacity recording is on this Wednesday (9/23): counting numbers (0-100) and blending consonants/vowels. 5) Quiz #3 on 9/24 (Lesson one text, 8 simple Chinese characters, and discriminating sounds, reading packet).

2. Monday sharing. Collect your paragraph.

3. Learn first set of initials (b, p, m, f).

HS 2P (9/21/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students apply speaking/writing skills through drafting their skit script. 2) Students polish speaking skill through Monday sharing routine.

功課: 1) Chinese III: WB pages 66-67. 2) Chinese II: WB pages 52-53. 3) Practice reading lesson 8/lesson 6.

Procedure:

1. 1) Pass back all papers. 2) Announcement: absolutely no practice w/your textbook or slip in Dell Lab. Ready for recording right away on Wednesday (9/23). 3) Chinese III: turn in your character homework. 3) Chinese II: Ms. Chang checks your completeness of WB page 51. Check the key to the page. 4) Chinese III quiz #4 / Chinese II #3 on next Monday (9/28). 5) Reminder: tutoring available at 8th period/after school.

3. Monday sharing (random grouping). Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph.

Objectives: 1) Gain knowledge about Chinese scenic spots and historical sites. 2) Students gain cultural understanding through reading Chinese school and housing systems. 3) Students practice speaking/writing skills through a Monday 5-sentence sharing routine.

Homework: N/A.

Procedure:

1. (5P only): 1) Quick review (family members, supplementary terms. 2) Return draft paper.

2. Monday sharing. Collect your paragraph.

3. Culture reading (schools and housing).

4. DVD: Scenic spots and historical sites in China (Great Wall of China, etc.)
