Procedures for 9/29/09

HS 1P/9P (9/29/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students review blending of consonants/vowels. 2) Students learn Chinese characters for math operators.

Homework: 1) Four new characters, one row each. 2) WB pages 15, 16, 18

Procedure:

1. 1) Check Progress Book for your missing assignments (typing, 5-sentence paragraph, audacity recording, etc). 2) Check your WB completeness tomorrow on your way into the classroom tomorrow!

2. Go over d/t/n/l consonants handout.

3. Dictation.

4. Learn four characters (, , , ).

5. Class/Pair activity: Read text pages 16-19.

6. Introduce supplementary terms (: ; : yè / page; : kè / lesson)

HS 2P (9/29/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Chinese III students review for quiz tomorrow. 2) Chinese II students start lesson 1.

Homework: Chinese III: study lesson 8 for quiz on Wednesday. Complete workbook pages.

Procedure:

1. Check Progress Book for your missing assignments (5-sentence paragraph, audacity recording, skit, etc).

2. Chinese II: 1) Turn in your character homework. 2) Go over supplementary term handouts. 2) Teach new characters (, , , , ). 4) Study lesson 1 text page 1.

3. Chinese III: 1) Take one copy of study guide. 2) Check completeness of WB homework assignment. Check key to the WB pages 71-74. 3) Work on study guide. 4) Listening activity w/printout.

MS 3P/5P (9/29/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students apply their knowledge about direction terms in playing the Pin the Tails on the Donkey game. 2) Students finish up color unit.

Homework: review all 11 colors.

Procedure:

1. Quick review (5 colors).

2. Teach new terms (brown, orange, pink, grey, yellow, purple). Pair practice: pronunciation and quiz each other (colors)

3. Teach/review terms (up, down, left, right, forward, backward) for game: Pin the Tails on the Donkey.

4. Game time.

5. Culture reading: Chinese zodiac calendar and animals.
