Procedures for 9/22/09

HS 1P (9/22/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Master four consonants. 2) Familiarize students with audacity program and typing Pinyin.

Homework: 1) Review numbers from 0-100/blending of vowels/consonants for audacity on Wednesday. 2) Review reading materials for quiz #3 on Thursday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return all papers. 2) Take one copy of Audacity instruction. 3) Anyone interested in Study Abroad Program? Get one copy of pamphlet.

2. 1) Dictation. 2) Go over audacity handout. 3) Demonstrate how to type Pinyin online.

3. Read Lesson 1 text.

HS 2P (9/22/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students polish speaking/listening skills through a listening activity. 2) Students practice dialogues through drafting their script.

功課: 1) Review lesson 6 and 8 for audacity tomorrow. 2) Complete your skit script. 3) Chinese III: WB pages 69-70.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB pages (Chinese III: 66-67; Chinese II: 52-53) for completeness. 2) Pass back all papers. 3) Type your skit script before you turn in.

2. Chinese II: 1) Check the key to WB pages. 2) Listen to CD/WB page 54 Section H listening activity. Answer the questions. Check the key (百貨商店 (bǎi huò shāng diàn: department store); 買東西 (mǎi dōngx: buy stuff); 看電視 (kàn diànshì: watch TV); 做功課 (zuò gōngkè: do homework). 3) Read text lesson 6. 4) Work on skit script.

3. Chinese III: 1) Check the key to WB pages. 2) WB pages 69-70. 3) Read text lesson 8. 4) Work on skit script.

HS 9P (9/22/09) Procedure

MS 3P/5P (9/22/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) (3P only) Students complete their first draft of 5 sentences of their oral presentation. 2) (5P only) Students make index cards for their color unit. 3) Students practice Chinese folk art: folding papers.

Homework: Review supplementary terms for quiz on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Quick review (family members, supplementary terms). 2) Quiz #3 this Wednesday. 3) Pass back papers.

2. (3P only) 1) Complete your first 5 sentences. Collect. 2) (3P only): Showcase sample art project.

3. (5P only) Take colored strips. Make index cards as a class.

4. Origami: pinwheel.
