HS 1P/9P (10/9/09)
Objectives: 1) Students gain knowledge that Chinese written language was first developed in simple, pictographic form. 2) Students will continue to learn new character for lesson 2.
Homework: 1) 5-sentence paragraph 2) one row for each new character
Procedure:
- 1) Video contest. 2) Ms. Chang checks WB pages 1-4. 3) Check WB page 1, 3-4 answers.
- Dictation (compound vowels).
- Teach new Chinese characters (同, 學, 們, 老, 師).
- (1P only) Continue compound vowels.
- Play Video “Chinese Word for Horse” (馬, 士, 雨, 田, 戈, 川, 車, 人, 森, 日)
HS 2P (10/9/09)
Objectives: 1) Students show their fluency/competence in date format. 2) Students continue to learn about weather.
Homework: 1) 5-sentence paragraph 2) Practice reading lesson one / lesson 9 text passage for audacity recording.
Procedure:
- Video contest.
- Chinese II: 1) Quick review. 2) Take quiz #4 part II. 3) Read text pages 12-15 for culture information.
3. Chinese III: 1) Flash cards activity. 2) Work on WB page 84 to make terms. 3) Read/explain text passages on 106-107. 4) Go over supplementary terms.
MS 3P/5P (10/9/09)
Objectives: 1) Students gain knowledge that Chinese written language was first developed in simple, pictographic form. 2) Students review all Chinese terms learn from last 6 weeks.
Homework: N/A
Procedure:
- Play Video “Chinese Word for Horse” (馬, 士, 雨, 田, 戈, 川, 車, 人, 森, 日)
- Sound out loud all learned Chinese terms.
- (5P only) Culture reading
- Game time: Follow the Leader.
