Procedures for 10/19/09

HS 1P/9P (10/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their writing/speaking skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will finish up learning compound vowel. 3) Students will review for their quiz on Wednesday.

Homework: Review for Lesson Two/consonants/compound vowels quiz on next Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Lesson 2/consonants/vowels quiz moves to Wednesday. 2) Turn in your makeup assignments (characters, WB pages, typing Chinese characters). 3) Make arrangements with Ms. Chang for your audacity recording (1P: Kristen, Adam F., Kathryn, Jay, Melissa, Wyatt, Colin, Erin, Bryan; 9P: Eddy, Shauna, Cory). 4) Painting class this Friday. 5) Tutoring is available after school everyday. All grades have to be submitted and finalized on 10/28. The end of first quarter is 10/30.

2. Monday sharing. Turn in your paragraph.

3. Finish compound vowels.

4. Dictation (consonants, Chinese characters, compound vowels).

5. (1P only) Matching activity.

HS 2P (10/19/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their writing/speaking skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Chinese students will practice their writing/reading skills through writing a letter/playing a recognition activity. 3) Chinese III students will practice listening skill through a tape listening/matching activity.

功課: 1) Chinese: Pen pal letter. 2) Review Lesson 9.

Procedure:

1. 1) Tutoring is available after school everyday. Last day to makeup any work is next Monday (10/26). All grades have to be submitted and finalized on 10/28. The end of first quarter is 10/30. 2) Make arrangements with Ms. Chang for your audacity recording (Chinese II: Zachary, Kaitlyn, Eric, Brianna, Kay Leigh; Chinese III: Candace, Ray, Christina, Michael, Kristine, Rachel). 3) Painting class this Friday. Calligraphy class next Friday.

2. Group activity (Chinese III leads Chinese III): 1) Monday sharing. Turn in your paragraph. 2) Flashcard activity.

3. Chinese II: 1) Recognize characters activity. 2) Work on Pen Pal letter. Due this Friday.

4. Chinese III: 1) Listening activity (tape). 2) Lesson 9 quiz and skit due on next Monday (10/26).

MS 3P/5P (10/19/09)

Objectives: 1) 5P Students will practice chopsticks with Cheerios today. 2) Students will gain geographic knowledge (major cities, rivers, mountains, etc) about China through reading activity. 3) Students will review for quiz (basic greetings) for tomorrow. 4) Students will practice writing/speaking skills through a Monday sharing routine.

Homework: Review learned terms for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1. Quick review (all terms).

2. Monday sharing. Collect your paragraph.

3. Complete your reading packet. Present the significance of the cities/label the cities on the map. Go over the key as a class. Collect.

4. (5P) Practice chopsticks with Cheerios.

Draft your skit using at least 7 different terms. Present and collect tomorrow.
