Procedures for 10/21/09

HS 1P/9P (10/21/09)

Objective: Students will demonstrate their mastery of consonants, vowels and lesson 2 text in today’s quiz.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1. 1) Return all papers (5-sentence paragraph, typing, etc). 2) Continue to turn in makeup work (typing, audacity, WB, character assignment, 5-sentence paragraph, etc). 3) Start last group of consonants and Lesson 4 tomorrow.

2. Questions? Quiz.

3. Show and tell: Chinese brush pens, ink stand, ink stick, and Chinese rice paper.

4. DVD: “Chinese brush painting.

HP 2P (10/21/09)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will be able to communicate about time, daily routines, and to express opinions about time. 2) Chinese III students will be able to talk about the weather, the duration and characteristics of the seasons and to understand a simple weather report.

Homework: 1) Chinese II: 生字一行. 2) Chinese III: workbook 81, 83, 84.

Procedure:

1. Chinese II: 1) Turn in your 5-character homework. 2) Learn 5 more characters (, , , , ). 3) Read textbook page 16. 4) Go over supplementary terms.

2. Chinese III: 1) Work at Media Center without Ms. Chang tomorrow! Follow all rules there. Consequences will be issued if Mrs. Galinas or Mrs. Rowland complains to me. 2) Lesson 9 quiz moves to Tuesday (10/27). 3) Turn in your 7-term making sentence homework. 4) 5) Go over textbook page 107-108, and 113. Read through sample sentences.

MS 3P/5P (10/21/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn numbers 15 today. 2) Students will experience Chinese folk art of cutting paper patterns.

Homework: 1) Make 12 index cards (0, 1-10, 100). 2) Review 5 terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return all papers (skit, Monday sharing, reading packet, etc). 2) Quiz #2 next Wednesday (10/28).

2. (5P only) Skit presentation.

3. Start unit #2 Numbers. Teach 5 terms (1-5).

4. Cut paper patterns (double happiness, longevity). Collect for grades.
