Procedures for 10/26/09

HS 1P (10/26/09)

Objective: 1) Students will practice their listening/speaking skills through a weekly Monday routine. 2) Students will continue to learn consonants and lesson four.

Homework: Review consonants.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your 5-character homework from last Friday. 2) Return all papers (characters, quiz, etc). 3) Makeup work (1P: Kathryn—Audacity/quiz/typing Chinese characters; Adam Y., Nathaniel, & Devon: quiz; James: quiz/typing Chinese characters; Colin, Wyatt, Brad, Kristen, Caitlyn: typing Chinese characters; 9P: Mitchell: typing Chinese character/quiz/5-sentence paragraph; Eddy: quiz). 4) Lesson 4/consonants quiz on next Tuesday (11/3).

2. Monday sharing. Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph.

3. Dictation.

4. Continue consonants.

5. (1P only) Teach new characters (, ).

6. Read textbook pages 23-24.

HS 2P (10/26/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their listening/speaking skills through a weekly Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will continue to learn to express time and weather condition.

Homework: 1) Chinese II: Fix your pen pal letter mistakes. Then submit again. 生字一行. 2) Chinese III: Review Lesson 9 text and WB for quiz on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Chinese III: Turn in your lesson 9 skit script/WB pages 81, 83, and 84. 2) Chinese II: Turn in your pen pal letter from last Friday/character homework (, , , , ). 3) Return all papers (characters, making sentences, etc). 4) Makeup work (Chinese III: Michael, Candace, Rachel; Chinese II: Eric). 5) Chinese II: Lesson 2 quiz on next Thursday (11/5). 6) Chinese club: turn in your due. Talk to Jae-Min, Lauren and Ray for activity/roster.

2. Monday sharing. Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph.

3. Chinese II: 1) Learn new characters (, , , , ). 2) Review all verb terms (做功課, 放風箏, 下棋, 看漫畫, 看書, 寫字, 跳舞, 喝茶, 聽音樂, 打球, 做飯, 上學, 騎車, 跑步, 游泳). 3) Listen to CD page 11 Section C. Have a partner check your answers/drawing. 4) Read textbook pages 16-17.

4. Chinese III: 1) Check key to WB pages 81, 83, & 84. 2) Read textbook 113. Read Sample sentences.

MS 3P/5P (10/26/09)

Objective: Students will be able to practice their speaking/listening skills through a weekly Monday sharing routine.

Homework: Review all numbers (0, 1-10, 100 and the corresponding Chinese characters) for quiz on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1. 1) Practice classroom expressions. 2) Makeup work (3P: Ellen—Reading packet, 5-sentence paragraph and writing Chinese characters; 5P: Andrea, Perry, Ricky, Andrew, Perris, ). 3) Return all papers (reading packet, character homework, quiz paper, etc).

2. Monday sharing. Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph and coloring sheet.

3. 1) Quick review (numbers and characters). 2) Listening to CD. 3) Showcase a seal (chop, stamp).

4. Hunting characters activity: look for Chinese number characters in the newspaper. Collect.
