Procedures for 10/6/09

HS 1P/9P (10/6/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students will practice blending consonants of g, k, h, j, q, x with various vowels. 2) Students will learn classroom expressions and basic greetings.

Homework: Practice blending of (g, k, h, j, q, x).

Procedure:

1. 1) Please take a set of character list. 2) Continue to make arrangement with Ms. Chang for audacity pronunciation (1P: Maggie, Bryan, Ryan; 9P: David, Derek, Cory, Mitchell, Cameron). 3) Return papers. 4) Makeup test (Melissa). 5) There is a short meeting for Chinese Club after school this afternoon. It will be filling out the survey, showing your interest of being elected as officers, paying due ($5), etc. Your friends do not have to take Chinese class to join the club! Next meeting is on Monday (10/12) to elect officers, enjoy snack, etc.

2. Teach/practice new consonants (g, k, h, j, q, x). Practice reading in pairs.

3. Teach new characters (1P: , , ; 9P: , ).

HP 2P (10/6/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will be able to talk about dates, days of the week, birthdays and to ask for permission. 2) Chinese III students will be able to talk about the weather, the duration and characteristics of the seasons and to understand a simple weather report.

功課: 1) Chinese II: WB pages 6-7. 2) Chinese III: 生字一行 / text passages.

Procedure:

1. 1) Chinese II/III: turn in your writing assignment. 2) Makeup work: Zachary. 3) Chinese II quiz #4 this Wednesday (?). 4) Audacity recording next Tuesday/Wednesday (10/13 or 10/14). 5) Return papers. 6) There is a short meeting for Chinese Club after school this afternoon. MS 3P/5P (10/6/09) Procedure

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their oral presentation due on 10/9. 2) Students will acquire terms through a song, “Head and Shoulder,” and a game, “Simon Says.”

Homework: N/A.

Procedure:

1. 1) Quick review (body parts). 2) Makeup work (3P: Navbir, Chris, Jake.). 3) Pass back papers (quiz, paragraph). 4) Art project due tomorrow.

2. Practice oral presentation.

3. Review new terms (body parts) and sing “Head and Shoulder,” and play games, “Simon Says/Follow the Leader games.“
