Procedures for 11/11/09

HS 1P/9P (11/11/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will perform their skit today. 2) Students will start lesson 5 today. 3) Students will continue back nasal sounds today.

Homework: Organized your binder.

Procedure:

1. 1) Some students did not submit their audacity recording or there were some problems in the file they submitted. 2) Turn in your binder at the end of the period tomorrow.

2. Skit performance.

3. Continue back nasal sounds.

4. Dictation.

5. Preview Lesson Five (terms and sentence patterns).

HS 2P (11/11/09)

Objectives: 1) Chinese III students will perform their skit today. 2) Students will continue their new Ni Hao 3 Lesson 1 and Ni Hao 2 Lesson 3 today.

Homework: 中文二學生: 生字一行; read page 29. 2) 中文三學生: 生字一行; read textbook pages 1 and 7.

Procedure:

1. Skit (中文三學生).

2. 中文二學生: 1) Turn in your 5-character homework if you have not. 2) Some students did not submit the audacity recording. 3) Preview Lesson Three. 4) Model new/old characters (, , , , , ). 5) Read text page 29.

MS 3P/5P (11/11/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain knowledge about Chinese zodiac animals and legend. 2) Students will learn terms about animals.

Homework: review all 11 colors.

Procedure:

1. Quick review (11 colors).

2. Culture reading: The Twelve Animals of Chinese Zodiac, Why These Twelve Animals, and the Giant Panda.

3. Teach 12 animals and supplementary animal terms.

Homework: Practice your skit for tomorrow’s performance.

Procedure:

1. Audacity recording: Lesson Four text. Use option under menu: File > export as WAV (your last name + Lesson4).

2. Type your skit script and turn it in with your pair rubric at the end of the class period (www.inputking.com and click Traditional Pinyin).

3. Teach address format. Complete two more sentences (my phone number is…, my home address is…).

4. Game time: Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
