Procedures for 12/1/09

HS 1P/9P (12/1/09)

Objective: Students will be able to introduce their family or to talk about their family.

Homework: One row for each new character (, , , , , ).

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one set of Lesson Six character list, Review Sounds #2, and Lesson Five text handouts. 2) Return 5-sentence paragraph and quiz paper for review. Collect your quiz paper. 3) Audacity on next Monday (12/7), covering Lesson Five text and two randomly picked Review Sounds #1 sentences. You will draw your sticks on next Monday morning. 4) Need a family picture for Lesson Six. Oral presentation will be completed before winter break.

2. 1) Tuesday sharing. 2) Share study strategies.

3. Model new characters (, , , , , ).

4. Pair activity: Finish up reading Review Sounds #1 and Lesson Five text.

HS 2P (12/1/09)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will be able to talk about their home environment, including their dwelling, rooms and furniture. 2) Chinese III students will demonstrate their mastery of first part of Lesson One materials.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character assignment. 2) Mr. Bennett comes to observe tomorrow. Guest speaker visits us on Thursday. 3) Audacity on next Monday (12/7). 4) Return all papers

2. 中文二: 1) Go over new characters (, , , , ). 2) Learn new characters (, , , , ). 3) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of your WB pages. Go over key to WB pages. 4) Teach text page 32-33.

3. 中文三: 1) Take one copy of Lesson One text. 2) Quick review. Questions? 3) Quiz. 4) Learn new characters (, , , , ). 5) Independent study: text pages 4-5.

MS 3P/5P (12/1/09)

Objectives: Students will start learning basic greetings and be introduced Hanyu Pinyin.

Homework: 1) Signature slips due on Wednesday (12/2). 2) Review three terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).

Procedure:

1. Collect Students Inventory and Signature slip, if any.

2. Go over Hanyu Pinyin handout.

3. Pass out/Go over Basic Greetings handout. Teach (Ni Hao, Wo Shi, Ni Shi).

4. Chopsticks activity, if time allows.

5. Pass out/Go over Four Tones handout.
