Procedures for 12/2/09

HS 1P/9P (12/2/09)

Objectives: Students will be able to introduce their family or to talk about their family.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1. Turn in your character homework.

2. Draft three sentences with Pinyin and characters (name, age, # of people in your family). 1) 我是….. 2) 我今年…... 3) 我家有 <#> 個人.

3. Showcase available resources.

HS 2P (12/2/09)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will review direction terms through a Pin the Tail on the Donkey game, a Macarena dance, and a matching activity. 2) Chinese III students will review terms for various parts in a school building and various subjects.

Homework: 1) 中文二: 生字一行 (, , , , , ). 2) 中文三: WB pages 7/11.

Procedure:

1. Turn in your character homework.

2. 中文二: 1) Take one copy of checklist for Lesson Three Floor Plan presentation. 2) Go over the checklist. Q/A? 3) TPR: Ben & Jae-min demonstrate Pin the Tail on the Donkey game. 4) Kirsten demonstrates Macarena dance with all direction terms. 5) Teach new characters (, , , , , ). 6) Independent study: matching activity and reading text pages 32-33, pair practice giving/carrying out commands (, , , , , ), & write new characters.

3. 中文三: 1) Pair activity/Independent study: review HS floor plan; work on WB pages 7/11; matching activity. 2) Teach text pages 4-5.

MS 3P/5P (12/2/09)

Objectives: Students will continue learning basic greetings and learn about historical, geographical knowledge about China.

Homework: Review all six (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Bu Xie/Bu Ke Qi).

Procedure:

1. Collect Students Inventory and Signature slip, if any.

2. Quick (Ni Hao, Wo Shi, Ni Shi). .

3. Continue to teach Basic Greetings handout. Teach (Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Bu Xie/Bu Ke Qi).

4. Building community activity.

5. (3P) Pass out/Go over Four Tones handout.

6. Pass out/introduce reading packet: China.
