Procedures for 12/14/09

HS 1P/9P (12/14/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their speaking/listening/writing skills through a Monday sharing routine and conversation questions. 2) Students will finish up lesson 6.

Homework: WB pages 36/38/39.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your 7-character wring assignment. 2) Monday sharing. Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph. 2) Ms. Chang returns your papers. 3) Lesson 6 quiz is on this Thursday, 12/17 (announced on 12/8/09). Oral presentation will be conducted for the next two days.

2. Go over conversation card questions. Pair/Class activity: conversation questions.

3. Class work: WB pages 34/35. Draw your stick as your order of oral presentation.

HS 2P (12/14/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will polish their listening/speaking/writing skills through a Monday sharing routine and conversation questions. 2) ChineseStudents will practice sample Amazing Race instructions and tasks.

Homework: Chinese III students practice tangram/origami, and study your lesson 1.

Procedure:

1. 1) Revised schedule at MS; Ms. Chang cannot stay after class. Revised schedule tomorrow: longer 2P. 2) Chinese III: Lesson 1 part II quiz this Thursday (12/17). 3) Chinese II: turn in your poster, model or flash drive w/name and filename.

2. Monday sharing. Collect your 5-sentence paragraph. Chinese II: draw your stick as your order of presentation tomorrow.

3. Chinese II: 1) Group activity (4 in a group): conversation questions. 2) Practice your script to your partner. Turn in your script.

4. Chinese III: 1) Try sample instructions. 2) Practice sample tasks (tangram, getting change, folding papers, flash cards, etc).

MS 3P/5P (12/14/09)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their speaking/listening/writing skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will continue to learn numbers 1-5 or 6-10. 3) Students will gain knowledge about Chinese food/cuisine.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms (1-10). 2) Chinese characters assignment (1-10).

Procedure:

1. Monday sharing. Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph.

2. (5P) Quick review (1-5)—sounds and Chinese characters.

3. Teach new terms (3P: 1-5; 5P: 6-10)—sounds and Chinese characters.

4. Listen to CD: 1-7.

5. Culture reading: Chinese food.

6. Showcase Chinese cook books.
