Procedures for 1/5/10

HS 1P/9P (1/5/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review for semester exam and audacity. 2) Students will start lesson 7 today.

Homework: Practice Lesson 6, Review Sounds #2, & oral test questions/answers.

Procedure:

1. 1) (9P only) Return papers. 2) Take one copy of Notes for First Semester Exam. Writing section will be conducted on 1/12. 3) Tutoring available after school. Check with Ms. Chang for tutoring from 1:00-1:30 daily.

2. 1) Go over Notes for First Semester Exam. 2) Introduce a new website tool, www.cozyChinese.com.

3. 1) Read Lesson 6 as a class. 2) Read Review Sounds #2. Pair practice.

4. Go over Conversation questions handout (#1-#8). Practice for oral semester test on 1/13. You need to answer three randomly picked questions from the list.

5. Teach new characters (, ).

HS 2P (1/5/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review for semester exam. 2) Chinese II students will start lesson 4 and Chinese III students will start lesson 2 today.

功課: 1) 生字一行 2) Practice oral text questions/answers.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return papers. 2) Take one copy of Notes for First Semester Exam and one copy of Supplementary Materials handout. Writing section will be conducted on 1/12. 3) Tutoring available after school. Check with Ms. Chang for tutoring from 1:00-1:30 daily.

MS 3P/5P (1/5/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will start drafting their oral presentation. 2) Students will finish up unit #3 for quiz on Friday.

Homework: Review all learned terms (father, mother, older/younger brother, older/younger sisters).

Procedure:

1. 1) (3P only) Return papers. 2) Collect any 5-sentence paragraph, if any.

2. Teach new terms (3P: older/younger sisters; years old; 5P: years old, family/house, have/has, ge ren).

3. (3P) Finish up draft sentence #2 (5P) Finish up draft sentences #2 & #3. Pair practice reading three sentences.

4. Finish up origami (gift box). Collect two products for grades.

5. Culture reading: Chinese calendar, official holidays, Chinese New Year.
