Procedures for 1/13/10

HS 1P/9P (1/13/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will take their semester exam (oral section) today. 2) Students will study their semester exam (multiple choices section).

Homework: Review all learned terms in study guide for multiple choices section.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of Study Guide for First Semester Exam Multiple Choices section. 2) (1P only) Explain semester exam dates. Sign your agreement and return. 3) Ashley, Bryan, Maggie, and Ericka talk to Ms. Chang, please. (9P only) First semester test is at 1P on Thursday, 1/21. 4) No 5-sentence paragraph on 1/19/10. All makeup work needs to turn in on/before Friday (1/15). Last day of 2nd quarter is next Tuesday (1/19/10).

2. Oral test (randomly picked 3 questions). MS students come first.

3. Study multiple choices section independently or in pairs.

Homework: Review learned term today.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return quiz paper/5-sentence paragraph. 2) Quick review (black, white, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown).

2. Teach new terms (3P: grey, purple, pink, brown, orange; 5P: grey, purple, pink).

3. Pass out/go over sports handout. (5P) Teach supplementary terms. Record your own term.

4. Showcase all art project sample work.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return your character assignment. 2) Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph, if you have not. 3) Looking for a tutor? Contact Marissa Caroniti (Chinese III). 4) 1P’test dates are not final yet! Hold on to your permission slip for 1P slot.

2. Pass out writing section question. Collect at the end of the class.

Objectives: 1) Students will finish 2 sentences for their oral presentation draft #2 today. 2) Students will continue to learn unit #4 terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return quiz papers and 5-sentence paragraph. 2) (5P) Quick review (black, white, red, blue). 3) Makeup work (flash cards, quiz, origami, 5-sentence paragraph, etc).

2. Teach new terms (3P: black, white, red, blue, yellow, green; 5P: green, yellow, purple, brown).

3. Explain phone number/address format. Work on draft #2 (sentence #6-7). Pair practice (seven sentences, learned color terms).

Objectives: 1) Students will make audacity recording of Lesson 6 and 2 sentences from Review Sounds #2 today. 2) Students will prepare themselves for writing and oral test on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Homework: Practice oral semester exam questions/answers for Wednesday (1/13).

Procedure:

1) Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph. It can be turned in tomorrow without penalty. The topics of 5-sentence paragraph can cover activities/events of the entire past week. 2) Draw your two sticks for Review Sounds #2. 3) Practice conversation questions, if you are done with your recording. 4) Due to a staff meeting, Ms. Chang is not available after school tomorrow. 5) Writing section of semester exam is conducted tomorrow. You can use textbook/binder materials for reference or work with a partner. Ms. Chang collects at the end of the class period.

HS 2P (1/11/10)

Objectives: Students will practice conversation dialogue for semester oral exam.

Procedure:

1. 1) Chinese II/III: practice oral exam questions as a whole class. 2) Turn in your paragraph. 5-sentence paragraph can be turned in tomorrow without penalty. Procedure:

1. 1) Return first draft. 2) Quick review. 3) Unit #3 quiz. 4) Unit #4 quiz on this Friday (1/15). No school on next Monday (1/18). Last 5-sentence paragraph is due on next Tuesday (1/19). Art project is due on next Wednesday (1/20). Oral presentation starts on next Thursday (1/21).

Collect your 5-sentence paragraph. 3) Ms. Chang returns your papers (Lesson 6 quiz, 5-sentence paragraph, characters, etc). Collect your quiz papers. 4) Makeup work (1P: Ashley, Maggie, Ericka, Ryan; 9P: Jeremie, Kayla, Cory). Talk to Ms. Chang, please. 5) Revised schedule (Freshmentoring) tomorrow. 1P starts at 8:05 AM.
