Procedures for 2/1/10

HS 1P/9P (2/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will polish their writing, speaking and listening skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac animals.

Homework: WB page 45-47.

Procedure:

1. 1) (1P) Ms. Chang returns papers. 2) Start course recommendation today.

2. Monday sharing. Collect the paragraph.

3. 1) Practice sounding out text page 54-56 as a class. 2) Read/Explain text pages 63-65 with placemats. Questions?

4. DVD: Story of the Chinese Zodiac.

5. Independent work: WB pages 45-47 / Course recommendation.

HS 2P (2/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will polish their writing, speaking and listening skills through a Monday sharing routine. 2) Students will continue to learn lesson 2 and lesson 4.

功課: 1) Chinese II: 生字一行和課文第四十三四十四頁. 2) Chinese III: 生字一行和課文第二十頁.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers. 2) Start course recommendation today. 3) Mini quiz (clothes and time modifiers) on this Wednesday. 4) Free Event at EJ Thomas Performing Arts Hall (198 Hill Street, Akron, Ohio 44325-0033) at 7:30 PM on Feb. 3, 2010 (Chinese Martial Arts & Folk Music Performance Group). Tickets are FREE and can be obtained at the EJ Thomas Hall Ticket Office from Monday thru Friday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM or on the evening of the performance. 1. 1) Any late homework? 2) Quick review of learned terms.

2. Monday sharing. Collect the paragraph.

3. Pass out/go over four tone handout.

4. Pair activity: complete reading packet, label major cities on the map and explain their significance. Collect at the end of class.
