Procedures for 2/2/10

HS 1P/9P (2/2/10)

Objective: Students will review to prepare for their quiz on Thursday.

Homework: 1) Crossword puzzle worksheet Side A. 2) Study for quiz.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson 7 Study Guide and crossword puzzle worksheet. 2) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of your WB assignment. 3) Check key to WB page 45.

2. (1P only) Watch Chinese Zodiac Story in English. (9P) Watch video clip to promote Chinese language learning.

3. Go over study guide.

4. Review activity: Read text pages 54-56.

5. Course recommendation.

HS 2P (2/2/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese III students will be able to ask/answer questions of taking a bus. 2) Chinese II students will be able to describe how the clothes fit.

功課: 1) Chinese II: 生字一行和課文第四十四頁. 2) Chinese III: 生字一行和課文第二十一頁.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character assignment. 2) DVD: Chinese zodiac story in Chinese/English.

2. Chinese II: 1) Independent study: learn new characters (, , , , , ). Read page 44. 2) Matching activity to review clothes items.

3. Chinese III: 1) Read/Go over pen pal letter checklist. Questions? Conversation questions session. 2) Independent study: learn new characters (, , , , ). Read text pages 20-21.

MS 3P/5P (2/2/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will acquire geographic knowledge about China. 2) Students will continue to learn basic greetings.

Homework: review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Review all learned terms. 2) Skit tomorrow.

2. Teach new terms (dui bu qi, mei guan xi, zhang lao shi).

3. Label major cities in China.

4. DVD: Places in China (Beijing, Tian’jin, Shanghai, and Chongqing)

5. Culture reading: Writing.
