Procedures for 2/18/10

HS 1P/9P (2/18/10)

Objectives: Students will review terms and sentence patterns through a conversation practice and flash card activity.

Homework: N/A.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character assignment. Ms. Chang returns papers. 2) Check your WB pages 49/50. Go over the answer key.

2. Listening activity: WB page 50/Section B. Go over the answer key.

3. Read text pages 66-67.

4. Video viewing: evaluate a website that provides animated teaching materials.

5. Group activity: 1) Conversation session. 2) Flash cards review activity.

6. DVD: (9P only) 1) Finish The Lady White Snake? 2) The Ballad of Mulan.

HS 2P (2/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will review terms of colors and types of clothes and be able to describe how clothes fit. 2) Chinese III students will be able to describe how far it is between two places, how long it takes to arrive at a certain place, and how to get to a destination.

功課: 中文二: Review for quiz on next Wednesday. 中文三: practice reading text pages 18-23.

Procedure:

1. 1) 中文三 students turn in your character assignment. 2) Video viewing while Ms. Chang checks Chinese III (WB page 23) assignment.

2. 中文二: 1) Independent work: Review activity: matching. 2) Class work: Read text pages 43-47.

3. 中文三: 1) Candace/Kristine/Christina turn in your revised pen pal letters again. 2) Class work: Read text pages 18-23. 3) Independent work: Matching.

MS 3P/5P (2/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to construct sentences for their oral presentation draft #1. 2) Students will complete two origami products.

Homework: Review all learned terms (family members & supplementary terms).

Procedure:

1. 1) Return all papers. 2) Missing work (3P: Jacob—5-sentence paragraph and hunting characters in the newspaper; 5P: Disha—quiz #2, Autumn—hunting characters in newspaper, Disha/Mary/Nicko—connecting the dots, 5-sentences: Nate, Shawn, Autumn, Cara, Selina, and Eric). 3) Quick review. 4) Quiz moves to next Monday?

2. Teach new terms (he, year, sheng ri). Construct sentence #4 with different scenarios.

3. Origami: pinwheel and gift box. Collect.
