Procedures for 2/24/10

HS 1P/9P (2/24/10)

Objectives: Students will work on skit, text passages, and listening comprehension.

Homework: WB pages 51/54.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character assignment (, , , ). 2) Return papers. Make sure you know your password for logging onto ProgressBook. 3) Go over common mistakes (, , , ).

2. Read text pages 66-69.

3. Whole class activity: conversation practice.

4. Preview some possible comprehension questions. Volunteers needed.

5. Pair activity: 1) Read text pages 660-69. 2) Add sentences to your skit.

6. (1P only) SHE singing group: Chinese rapping to promote Chinese language learning.

HS 2P (2/24/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will review for lesson 4 test on Thursday, 2/25. 2) Chinese III students will use direction terms to ask for/give/follow directions to get to places.

功課: 1) 中文二: study for quiz on Wednesday. 2) 中文三: WB pages 21/22.

Procedures:

1. 1) Return papers. 2) Make sure you know your password to log onto ProgressBook.

2. 中文二: 1) Go over Study guide. 2) Read text pages 43-47. 3) Review WB pages 32-34, sentence patterns in text pages 49-50. 4) Work on your skit.

3. 中文三: 1) Turn in your character assignment (, ). 2) Independent work: Practice reading text pages 18-24/25/27. 3) Return 2 copies of revised pen pal letters.

MS 3P/5P (2/24/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up color unit. 2) Students continue to build sentences for their oral presentation.

Homework: Review all 11 learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Missing work (3P: Parker—index cards; 5P: Nate—origami, Eric—quiz and index cards, Mac—quiz and index cards). 2) Return quiz papers.

2. Teach new terms (orange, pink, grey).

3. Construct oral presentation draft #2 (sentence #7).

4. (3P) Culture reading: Chinese food.

5. (5P) Chinese finger guessing game. Continue to browse through cook books.
