Procedures for 2/3/10

HS 1P/9P (2/3/10)

Objectives: Students will review all sample questions to be ready for quiz.

Homework: Study for quiz.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your crossword puzzle worksheet. 2) Ms. Chang returns papers. 2) (1P only) Watch video clip – promoting Chinese language learning w/major lyrics. 3) Check key to WB pages 46-47.

2. Review activity: Dry Erase board: listening, writing, making sentences.

5. Course recommendation.

HS 2P (2/3/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese III students will be able to ask/answer questions of taking a bus. 2) Chinese II students will be able to describe how the clothes fit.

Homework: 1) Chinese II: WB pages 30-31. 2) Chinese III: WB pages 18 & 20.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character assignments. Ms. Chang returns all papers. 2) Sophomores and those who were absent on Friday get to resubmit your 5-sentence paragraph without any penalty. 3) View a video clip that promotes Chinese language learning. 4) Listening comprehension at 2nd F. lab on 2/8.

2. Chinese II: 1) Missing assignments? 2) Mini quiz. 3) Independent work: complete workbook pages.

3. Chinese III: 1) Missing assignments? 2) Mini quiz #2. 3) Read text page 18.

MS 3P/5P (2/3/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn simple Chinese characters today. 2) Students will apply basic greetings terms in writing/performing a skit.

Homework: One row each for learned Chinese characters.

Procedure:

1. 1) Missing assignments? 2) Ms. Chang returns papers.

2. Review learned terms.

3. Pass out square papers. Teach Chinese characters (sun, moon, mountain, tree—3P only).

4. Draft your skit. Perform today/tomorrow. Collect at the end of the class tomorrow.
