Procedures for 2/9/10

HS 1P/9P (2/9/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their listening and speaking skills through a Tuesday Sharing routine and conversation questions. 2) Students will be introduced to a famous animal character (Monkey King) in Chinese literature through viewing a DVD.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns your paper. 2) Ms. Chang is not available after school due a staff meeting. 3) Claim your PP draft.

2. Tuesday Sharing.

3. (1P only) Conversation questions.

4. Finish up Lesson 7 Culture reading: Something to Know.

5. Preview Lessons 8-11.

6. DVD: The Making of Monkey King

HS 2P (2/9/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their listening and speaking skills through a Tuesday Sharing routine and conversation questions. 2) Students will be introduced a famous animal character (Monkey King) in Chinese literature through viewing a DVD.

Homework: Study for mini quiz on Thursday (descriptive words and places).

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns all papers. 2) Ms. Chang is not available after school due to a staff meeting.

2. Tuesday sharing.

3. Whole class conversation questions.

4. Chinese II: 1) Ms. Chang goes over common character/sentence writing mistakes (, , , , ; no ‘’ before age and adjectives) for Chinese II students. 2) Go over key to WB pages 31-32. 3) Read textbook pages 43-44.

5. Chinese III students read text pages 18-20.

6. DVD: The Making of Monkey King.

MS 3P/5P (2/9/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue/finish up unit #2 (numbers) and corresponding Chinese characters. 2) Students will experience a Chinese folk art of cutting papers through cutting two paper patterns.

Homework: Review all terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Quick review (1-4/1-8) with Chinese characters. 2) Return papers.

2. (5P only) Teach new terms (9,10, 0, 100) and Chinese characters. Collect your character writing.

3. Culture reading: Lucky and unlucky numbers.

4. Cutting papers. Collect.
