Procedures for 3/11/10

HS 1P/9P (3/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review a video about how to use Flip video camera. 2) 1P students will make Chinese festival decoration with red envelopes.

Homework: 1) Practice reading PP draft for video shooting tomorrow. 2) (9P) One row for each new character.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take a copy of handout, “How To Use Flip Video Camera.” Ms. Chang returns your papers. 2) Flip video camera project tomorrow. 1P: 6 pairs of team leaders (HS: Wesley/Andrew, Antonio/Nathaniel; MS: Kristen/Aashna, Caitlin/Lillian, Jay/Wyatt, Heidi/Kathryn). Team leaders will make sure group members make a video clip of their PP presentation w/title on the clip. 9P: 6 groups of 3 students. 3) Lesson 9 mini quiz on 3/22, covering all eight sports terms and 2 other terms (like, sport): matching meanings, pronunciation and characters. 4) MS students take one copy of square paper for your writing assignment next week.

2. Video viewing: How to use Flip video camera. Take any notes, if necessary.

3. (1P) Get a set of red envelopes. Led by Aashna, Kristen, and Jay.

4. (9P) Learn new characters (, , , ).

HS 2P (3/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will be able to ask about price of merchandise. 2) Chinese III students will work on and complete their skit today.

功課: Chinese III: skit due tomorrow.

Procedure:

1. Chinese III: 1) Dean, Michael, Christina, Kristine, Candace talk to Ms. Chang regarding audacity please. 2) Browse Lesson Three, characters, sentence patterns, titles of paragraphs, and passages. 3) Work on skit. 4) Review learned characters (, , , , , , , , , ). Read text passage on page 38.

2. Chinese II: 1) Lauren, Cecilia, Kevin, Leshe, Sara, Brianna, Kirsten, please make an appointment with Ms. Chang for audacity. 2) Listen to Michael’s recording. 3) Turn in your character assignment. Ms. Chang checks your WB page 37. Work on the remaining questions on this page. 4) Read text passage on page 55. 5) Study sentence pattern on page 62.

MS 3P/5P (3/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn Chinese characters today. 2) Students continue to learn basic greetings. 3) Students will practice using chopsticks.

Homework: 1) Review all terms. 2) Finish two rows of Chinese characters.

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect any late homework. 2) Quick review of learned terms.

2. Teach new terms (Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Wu An, Wan An).

3. Chopsticks practice.

4. Teach Chinese characters (sun, moon).

5. Showcase sample art project work.
