Procedures for 3/12/10

HS 1P/9P (3/12/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice using Flip video camera to shoot their presentation. 2) 1P students will finish up making a Chinese festival decoration.

Homework: N/A.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers. 2) Practice your draft. Team leaders (1P: HS: Wesley/Andrew, Antonio/Nathaniel; MS: Kristen/Aashna, Caitlin/Lillian, Jay/Wyatt, Heidi/Kathryn; 9P: Beneta, Derek, Daniel, Davie) get a Flip video and work with your team members. 3) (9P) Turn in your character assignments (, , , ).

2. Review Listening comprehension.

1. Work time. Shoot a short, separate video of each group member presenting their paragraph. Leave the cameras to Ms. Chang

2. (1P) Finish up your Chinese decoration ball.

3. (9P) Finish up your work (PP draft, skit draft, interview activity, audacity). Learn three more characters (, , ). Collect at the end of the class.


HS 2P (3/12/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review listening comprehension. 2) Students continue to build vocabulary for new lessons.

Homework: 1) Finish all character writing assignments (中文二: , , , , , , , , ; 中文三: , , , , , , , , , ). 2) 生字一行 (中文二: , , , , , ). 3) 中文三: WB page 29.

Procedure:

1. Ms. Chang returns papers (character writing assignment, listening comprehension, test).

2. Chinese III: 1) Turn in your skit w/rubric. 2) Read text passages on page 38. 3) Work on WB page 29 (教育: education; skip #3, #7)

3. Chinese II: 1) Learn new characters (, , , , , ).

4. Review listening comprehension (Lessons 5/10)

MS 3P/5P (3/12/10)

Objectives: Students will continue to learn more Chinese characters and two more greeting terms.

Homework: 5-sentence paragraph

Procedure:

1. 1) Any late homework? 2) Quick review of 13 learned terms.

2. Pass out/go over four tone handout.

3. Teach new terms (I’m sorry; that’s all right).

4. Teach/Write Chinese characters (mountain, tree, fire, water, person, mouth). Collect.

5. Chinese finger guessing game.
