Procedures for 3/17/10

HS 1P (3/17/10)

Objective: 1) Students will be able to talk about their favorite sports, and to invite people to play sport. 2) Students will review materials from Lesson 2 to Lesson 8.

Homework: One row for each new character.

Procedure:

1. 1) Turn in your character writing assignment. 2) Ms. Chang returns you papers.

HS 2P (3/17/10)

Objectives: Students will learn to make Chinese lanterns with red envelopes.

Homework: Chinese III students practice your skit for Friday.

Procedure:

Students get a kit of 12 red envelopes and one red silk cord. Helpers (Ray, Lauren, Kristine, Michael) go around to assist.

HS 9P (3/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to talk about their favorite sports, and to invite people to play sport. 2) Students will review materials from Lesson 2 to Lesson 8.

1. 1) Turn in your character writing assignment. 2) Ms. Chang’s mistakes in (, ). 3) Ms. Chang returns papers.

MS 3P/5P (3/17/10)

Objectives: 1) 3P students will view a DVD and complete a reading packet about China. 2) 5P students will continue learning 5 more number terms and work on their skit with learned greeting terms.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang/Mrs. Mauceri returns papers. 2)

2. (5P) Quick review of learned terms (15 terms for unit #1; 5 terms for unit #2).

3. (3P) 1) Pair activity: Reading packet: China. Collect for grades. 2) DVD viewing: Places in China.

4.  (5P) 1) Teach new terms (liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi). Listen to CD for numbers. 2) Pair activity: Write your skit with your partner using at least 7 different greeting terms. Perform tomorrow. 3) Watch a Chinese rapping video clip.
