Procedures for 3/22/10

HS 1P/9P (3/22/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to build vocabulary for lesson nine. 2) Students will practice listening skill through two listening comprehension activities.

Homework: MS students work on 3 activity bags tonight.

Procedure:

1. 1) Welcome back, MS students. Please turn in your character writing assignment. 2) Ms. Chang returns papers. 3) No school on next Monday, 3/29. Will change seats on 3/30, the beginning of 4th quarter. 4) Vote for quiz date of Lesson 9 quiz? This Friday or next Tuesday (3/30)? 5) Lesson 9 audacity will be on 3/31. Please bring in digital images of your family members and pets to complete insertion of pictures into your draft. 6) MS students bring back three activity bags for review tonight. 7) Mr. Bennett will observe Ms. Chang at 1P on this Wednesday. 8) K-12 Chinese Flagship Program will operate the third annual Chinese Summer Day Camps during June 17-29, 2010. HS 2P (3/22/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will be able to carry on a conversation on buying goods in various settings. 2) Chinese III students will be able to talk or write about their life outside school, including TV programs, movies, music, plays and sports.

Procedure:

MS 3P/5P (3/22/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will start a new number unit.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns paper. 2) (3P) Review tornado drill procedure. Tornado drill will be conducted statewide on Wednesday. 3) (5P) Missing assignment (Halle: Chinese characters?) Skit-recording grades for 3P paper patterns. 4) 3rd quarter grades 2/3 from previous class and 1/3 from Ms. Chang. 5) Makeup test/work?

2. Monday sharing. Collect your 5-sentence paragraph. (3P) Forgot? Turn in and do the activity tomorrow?

3. (3P) 1) Teach Chinese numbers/characters (1-5). 2) Work on your skit and practice presentation. Present it tomorrow. 3) Watch Chinese rapping video clip.

4. (5P) Quick review (1-10). Teach Chinese characters (7-10). 3) 8th graders finish up cutting paper patterns (double happiness). 4) Culture reading: Chinese publications.
