Procedures for 3/25/10

HS 1P/9P (3/25/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review to prepare for their quiz on next Tuesday. 2) Students will practice speaking/listening skills through conversation session.

Homework: Study for quiz

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers and checks your WB H/W pages 56/58. 2) Go over the key. 3) Makeup quiz: 1P: Brad/Heidi; 9P: Cory.

2. Take turns reading text passages on pages 77-79.

3. (1P only) Review activity: puzzle pieces.

4. (9P only) Q/A session: conversation questions.

5. Writing activity on dry erase board: sample questions.

HS 2P (3/25/10)

Objectives: 1) Chinese II students will learn to ask about the price and availability of goods, expressing opinions on goods and making choices. 2) Chinese III students will be able to express their opinions about movies/TV programs.

功課: 1) 中文二: WB page 38 Section C/page 40 Section E. 2) 中文三: WB page 32 / Section E#1-2; WB page 39 #1-5.

Procedure:

1. 中文二: 1) Turn in your character writing assignment if you have not done so. 2) Take one copy of Lesson Five Supplementary Materials handout. 3) Go over common mistakes (便宜 ó 方便). 4) Ms. Chang checks WB page 45 #9/#10. Work on WB page 45 #3/#6. Go over the answers. 5) Listen to CD (WB page 38/Section B). Check the answers. 6) Independent study: read text passages on pages 56-57.

2. 中文三: 1) Makeup work (Michael: mini quiz #1). 2) Common mistakes ( ó ). 3) Go over supplementary handout. 4) Independent work: Read text passages on page 40-41.

MS 3P/5P (3/25/10)

Objectives: Students will review for quiz tomorrow.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers 2) Missing work (3P: Kent/David: Skit; 5P: Jasmine: characters; Halle/Joe: newspaper hunting activity; Maddie Miller: 5-sentence paragraph). 3) Quick review w/Chinese characters.

2. (3P) 1) Teach Chinese counting principle. Count numbers from 0-100. 2) Pass out/Go over number table handout. 3) Silent work: Connecting the Dots activity. Collect. 4) Prepare/Make Origami product#1: Pinwheel. 5) Culture reading: Chinese publications. 6) Show MS class list.

3. (5P) 1) Showcase Sample Art project (PPT, movies, craft). 2) Culture reading: Chinese school system. 3) Origami activity: pinwheel. Collect.
