Procedures for 5/12/10

HS 1P (5/12/10)

Objective: Students will prepare and practice conversation questions for oral exam on Friday.

Homework: Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

1. 1) Return Food Consumption Table. 2) Log your entries, please. 3) Work at 2nd F. lab tomorrow.

2. Read text passages on pages 93-94.

3. Whole class conversation questions practice.

HS 9P (5/12/10)

Objective: Students will finish their PPT draft #5 today.

Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions. 2) PPT #5 due tomorrow at the beginning of class.

Procedure:

1. Add sentences about your birthday and food preferences (2 food items and 2 drinks). For those who do not have pets, you need to add two more sentences about your imaginary pet and the name you would like to call your imaginary pet.

2. Use the checklist to do a self-assessment. Do you have every content needed, clip arts / images for each slide? Do you have 15 slides?….etc

HS 2P (5/12/10)

Objectives: 1) 中文二 students will practice their speaking skill through a sharing activity. 2) 中文二students will be able to hold a telephone conversation; 中文三students will be able to communicate about birthday celebrations, including giving and replying to invitations, buying and receiving gifts and attending parties.

功課: 1) 中文二: WB page 59. 2) 中文三: WB page 51.

Procedure:

1. 1) 中文三students take one copy of requirements for your party invitation card project. 2) Check completeness of your WB page.

2. 中文二: 1) Wednesday Sharing. 2) Independent work: Study sentence patterns on pages 86-87 (您是哪位? / 您找哪位? / 您找誰 / < person > 在家嗎? / < person > 回來了嗎? / 您打的 < 電話號碼 > 是幾號? )

2. 中文三: 1) Go over new characters (, , , , ) with enrichment. 2) Go over text passages on pages 66-67. Independent work: 3) study project requirements. 4) Study sentence patterns on pages 70-71.

MS 3P/5P (5/12/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish unit #2 (numbers) today. 2) Students will continue viewing a documentary about Ruth Harkness’ journey in 1930s. 3) Students will explore tangram pieces game today.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. Quick review: numbers and Chinese characters (1-7).

2. Teach/Write Chinese characters and numbers (8-10, 100, 0). Collect.

3. DVD: China: The Panda Adventure (20 minutes).

4. Tangram pieces: Part I.
